Hi Marian.

I am stuck in Act 1, at the bar in the harbor. There is a safe I cannot figure out how to open. I can't leave the area so I'm assuming I have the clue somewhere around me. I tried the name Tony Zola in various ways and his phone number, as well as different words I found in clippings hanging on the wall (such as Road King), and some numbers from the drinks list and price list. (I'm using the letters/numbers as found on a phone dial.)

??

Thanks!

First, the walkthrough says to check the journal's documents to read the Mixed Drinks list.

Thank you. I didn't see the list in the journal and actually went back into a prior save to look at it again. You can only look at it and at the price list one time, then you can no longer read it, which I think is just wrong if it is the clue, but anyway...

I will go back in and try again. I think maybe there is a tab in the journal that I forget about. Maybe there is something else of interest for me in there also!

Nope! Had those numbers already and tried what I could with them and with numbers on the price list. Can't figure it out.

You need to pay special attention to Cola Hemingway's drink.

Hi again Marian.

Question. I am in Act III, in San Francisco, in the church at the crime scene. I am trying to remove a broken light bulb but don't want to use my bare hand because I may cut myself. Am I supposed to be using the rag to do this?

If so, I am in trouble! I used the rag on a can to melt some asphalt and cannot take the rag back off of the can, at least not yet. It is still warm and I haven't got a clue why I melted it/what to do with it. lol

The walkthrough says to use the moist washcloth on the light bulb to get it.

You do use melted asphalt a bit later.

I hope you are enjoying the game. laugh

Argh! I was afraid you were going to say that! I guess I will have to replay from a save prior to melting that asphalt. I don't know why it won't let me take the rag back. When I look at it in close up, it shows as 3 items, rag, rusted can, and melted asphalt so it seems like I should be able to take it back off of the can. Maybe when I return to the game the can will have cooled and then I can take it???

The game is okay but in the first game the protagonists had Russian and French accents. In this one they don't. Since I just played the first game, this is noticeable to me. Also, I kind of feel like the first game had more atmosphere.

Thank you much!

I would feel that way about the accents too.

Maybe after this game you should play an oldie (like the Beast Within). whistle grin

Me thinks me needs help again.

I am in Act VI, in the crypt. I have lit lights 1,2,3,& 5. I can't light 4 because the cable has been cut. I can put it back together but need to insulate it. I don't seem to have what I need to do this though a couple of the items seem to me like they should work.

Here is what I have in my inventory: wallet, talisman, photo of Teodor Jacyk (can't read what I wrote), marked map, rubber hose, bottle wit gasoline, stripping knife, book, hammer, nails, destroyed lighter, key to room, key to wardroom, key to crypt, and insect killer (couldn't figure out what these words were and almost had to go back in game to look).

Seems to me the stripping knife and rubber hose would work???

Am I missing an item, and if so, is it in the crypt or do I have to go to a prior save to find the item elsewhere? I cannot go back to the yard. Or, am I just not using/doing something right? I believe I've looked at all the items in close up view in my inventory.

Thank you.

Have you picked up any link cables? They are in the crypt.

I have 4 link cables. They are not in my inventory because I used them. That's how I turned on the lights 1,2,3, & 5. I don't have a link cable for light 4 but the connectors don't work for that light as it is the one whose cable is cut. At least this is how I'm understanding it.

Or is this a clue you're giving me? That I need to use a link cable somehow with the cut cable?

If I am reading the walkthrough correctly, there is another link cable now that you should have been able to pick up. Did you see a stain in the passageway?

Yes. That's where the cut cable is. I don't think it is a link cable. I can't pick it up like I picked up the other 4. I think it's the lamp cable?

I have 4 link cables total. 3 were on the table and 1 was on the floor.

Edit: Got it! I did have to go into a prior save and have a conversation with the gatekeeper but then even though I knew what I needed to do, I still could not get back out to the Monastery courtyard to give items to the gatekeeper so that I could get the TAPE I needed to repair the cable. It is apparently a glitchy area. I replayed AGAIN (a second time) before I figured this out. The scene is moved over so you cannot move to where you need to go to get the green arrow to go back. I could only get a grayed out arrow. After much clicking around I somehow got the scene to move over a little and was able to go do what I had to do.

I know I am near the end but it is 2:40 am so it will have to wait until tomorrow. I sure hope I don't run into any more glitches or crashes to the desktop. I had 3 of those with some kind of errors but was able to get past them.

Thanks Marian for reading the walkthrough for me and trying to help!!

I would not have had to replay the portion if there was no glitch but I would not have known that if I didn't do the replay. Anyway, I finished the game. Now back to Unavowed and Dracula Love Kills.
