Here's a direct cut & paste quote from Rand Miller off of a blog by Joel Ronvel, today at 12:02pm:

I sent an e-mail off to Rand and he answered, “We’ve had a reprieve. Managed to pull a rabbit out of the hat (that I can’t give details about yet), so we rehired almost everybody. Crazy industry. It’s giving me whiplash!”

And from Richard Watson, aka RAWA, at Cyan, this direct cut & paste quote off Joel's blog:

“Hope” is a good description. We’ve been given a reprieve. We hope it will turn into something permanent.

But the good news is that, for now at least, we’re back. I’m afraid that I can’t give any of the juicy details yet, but I will pass along any info that I can when I can.

Thanks again for the prayers, crossed appendages, vibrations, etc.

RAWA

Happy, happy days!

I had gotten that first hopeful indication from the on-line blog, but I've been out of town, so I didn't know about the definite confirmation.

Can't help wondering what Cyan will come up with now that the Myst series has ended. I wish they would reissue some of the earliest games they did...

I too would like to see their first games released again with XP playability. I always like to see and play the older games to get a sense of how far the new games have progressed - - graphically if not narratively.

Well, I'm glad their back, will be looking for their next venture. I sent them an e mail telling them how much I liked their Myst series and actually got a reply from Rand Miller. Now that shows they care about their fans.
