I didn't play as warrior, but you'll want flying disc-really useful at the end, the enchant one-that's a warrior's I think, and I loved elemental hail-came in handy.
But, you can pick and choose from any of the three paths.
As long as you're comfortable with your method of choice-I used the Long Blade and Shield(looked so nifty)don't see any reason to change, except to give yourself a break and learn to methods.
Don't overlook the magic. And lockpicking is real handy too.

I played 3 games back and forth.
One as a warrior.
One as a Mage.
One as a Survivor.
In all three I used mostly the sword or Axe.
I had bow for each but the magic seemed faster.
The freeze spell is the best to use but even better if you have freeze on a weapon.
I got as many skills for each as I could.
You have to uplevel each skill up to level 5 and when you receive skills points to give out to the skills...you only get one skill point at a time.
You may use the skill point right away or like the game keeps telling you...you may save them up and use them later when you have more to give out.
Repair will let you do it yourself and save money and also if you repair yourself you will make more money on the item when you sell it.
Lockpick is also very important to get because there are many chests and doors in the world to open.
Alchemy is another important one because you can than just buy empty bottles and make your own by picking herbs and mushrooms to use in making the potions.
Pickpocket you only need level 1 for a Theives Guild assignment.
Enchant item is a good one because you can then use all the charms you find to put on your equipment.
Well thats all I can think of for the moment.

Thank you all for your help. I'm currently clearing up all around Rivertown and picking up quest after quest after quest! I'm just about to level up to level 13.

Finally managed to store my belongings away in a neat and orderly fashion! lol.

Sorry to bombard you all with millions of questions!

Last night I wandered into the graveyard in Rivertown and watched the poor lady being kidnapped by Jake. I, being the amazing hero that I am, leapt to the rescue and started slashing and hacking away at the corpses. When I went down one of the pits, however, I discovered that I couldn't save my game.

This freaked me out and I reloaded a previous save and went and did something else. Is this a glitch in the game? I did download the latest patch, but am somewhat technologically challenged so it may not have worked.

Also, how do I get into the locked quarantined area in the town? There are guards everywhere, so presumably I can't just lockpick the gates?

You're right - that's a glitch; the only place in the game where you can't save. I thought the patch fixed that, but I guess not.
And hey, bombard away! You've actually asked very few, and here we are just bubbling away with answers!

Keep going around the quarantine area and will find a backentrance that you can pick.

Is there some reason why the whole bar at the bottom of the screen (the one that accesses the inventory, skills, etc.) disappears every time I try to repair something? The only way I can get it back is to exit the game and start again...

i didn't know you were playing. How do you like it? I odn't hae the gmae anyomore but there is a key to press to get back the icon bar at the bottom of the screen. YOu should not have to restart. I am sure osmeone else can tell you what it is.

It's a good game, although I've had all kinds of problems. But I'm struggling on, so that should tell you something...

I have the same problem when repairing something...makes me not use that skill very often.

Sometimes right-clicking around where the missing task bar/stuff should be - oftimes near the botton of the screen brings it back.

I've always managed to get it back without exiting the game if that's any help.

Thanks for the encouragement, Yapette, but I'm beginning to think I have some sort of mental block when it comes to the dark side! I can't get the repair function to work at all.

I have the skill as the active one, and when I right-click on it, the cursor becomes the hammer (that's also when the bar at the bottom disappears), but then I can't manage to do anything. No matter where I laft-click the bow never gets repaired.

But after your post, Yapette, I did manage to get the bar back by right-clicking down at the bottom. Many thanks! Now if someone could walk me through the repair process, with baby steps please , I'd be very grateful...

I did the same thing - right clicking on the repair skill minimizes the interface as a function of the game - and when it first happened I sat there scratching my head for the longest time wondering where everything went!
OK, for the repair skill:
You activate your repair skill like you're doing, and then left click on the item you want to repair. You can use the screen where it shows what your character is wearing, or some people find it easier to put an item on the ground, stand close to it, and click to repair.Some people aren't able to repair when an item is just in your general inventory.
However, remember that you can only do a certain percentage of repair according to your skill level. Say you have a level one skill in repairing, you would only be able to repair up to 60% of the item's durability. Level 2, 70% and so on. If your item has a low durability,you may not be able to fix it at all, which could account for you not seeing any results.
For me, it was just easier to hop to the weapons guy in the merchant area. Unless you want to invest your skill points to make you a level five in repair skill, which would let you repair to 100%, this made more sense to me.

I more than half the time messed up using the repair skill so I took the easy way out and just paid someone else to do it for me
