I thought I'd play through the Syberia series again. 1 and 2 were fine. 3's controls are horrible and now I'm at the part where Kate has to engage the ice breakers on the ship. You have to "quickly" move the gear from 1 to 3 to 2 before it shuts itself down and you have to start the sequence over....all with horrible mouse controls and deepening frustration. And I can't save the game where I want but only allow the game to save itself where it wants to.

I'm going to bed. Maybe my 12 year old granddaughter can get this part to work. I've had it. I even looked on Mystery Manor to see if they had a save for this horrible part. No such luck.

I recently replayed this game and was also frustrated with this puzzle because of the timing. Even though I thought I was doing it right, after looking at the walkthrough at Mystery Manor I seemed to get it right away, so maybe there was some little something that I wasn't doing quite right. It seemed like I did not have to do it quite as fast as it originally seemed or maybe I just stopped panicking and that helped. Good luck!

I remember this one! Yes totally frustrating! Good suggestion oldbroad, you would think that they would have gone back and worked on these issues as many players have complained about the control issues.

Melia, this particular puzzle made me quit playing the game and uninstall it. And I'm an RPG and FPS gamer and have taken on and conquered many boss fights! I hope you can get past it.

I had my 12 year old granddaughter try it this morning after we looked at the walkthrough on MM. ONE try! ONE! She did it in one!

Grandchildren can be very handy that way! Your granddaughter is definitely a keeper.

I played this game for about an hour - quite some time ago - and absolutely disliked how it worked.
I was SO disappointed. And, I, too, uninstalled it duh

However, I'm really glad that your Granddaughter did the deed for you, Melia. That's wonderful. And I hope you can enjoy the rest of it, now thumbsup

I also quit and uninstalled this game. Kate will have to save the world without any assistance from me. Thank goodness for kids, right?

These issues are why I haven't even tried to play this game. Life is too short to spend time being frustrated with a game. It is supposed to be a relaxing experience, not something causing high blood pressure. I am lucky because my son is a gaming whiz and can get me past any rough spot, but even with that, I just have no desire to struggle with such things anymore.

I'm with you, Marian. I put off playing this game for a very long time because of the interface issues. They were all kinds of reassurances, they had been "fixed," so I finally gave it a try last year. Nope, I've got better things to do with my time than struggle with a poorly made game.

Interface in Syberia 4 is JUST AS BAD!! My opinion! And, the game is boring! At least Syberia 3 was a lot of fun!

LOL! And I dearly loved Syberia 4, particularly for the story! I love how we all have different experiences with these games!

I’ve replayed the first two Syberia games and might well do so again but that’s where it’s now ending for me.

It’s so disappointing to spend hard earned cash on games that I find are truly unenjoyable - for whatever reasons - but that’s life, eh ?? 🙃🙃🙃
