That's good news.

I loved Cyberpunk even when it was getting lots of hate. I was going to fire it up next, but I'll wait for the expansion to be available.

I really need to get the original Cyperpunk. Maybe this winter when I will actually have time to PLAY!

I loved it, though I felt like I was in the minority. It's a huge game. I'm going to wait for the newest DLC to be available before I fire it up again.

My son thought the game was great, and he played it before most of the patches. He plans on playing it again after the expansion is released.

I always found it odd that it received so much negativity.

I enjoyed aspects of the game, but the controls were on the sketchy side at times. Took me awhile to get used to driving without destroying everything along the way.

There was one quest line I could never get to because it involved chasing with a vehicle that was really clumsy. That wouldn't have been so bad, but they forced you to go through about 5 minute's worth of dialogue EVERY FREAKING TIME you reloaded the quest.

I found using a motorcycle the easiest by far. But yes, there were a lot of destroyed lamp posts and other assorted road-side items.

I noticed that nVidia just released a game ready driver for their graphics cards focused on the Phantom Liberty expansion (I do like that name, a lot). That seems to suggest that CD Projekt Red has released updated requirements to the tech groups. Hopefully, they've got some additional optimizations in there as well.

Thanks for the reminder, Trail! I got a popup about that driver, but haven't installed it yet.

Watched some content out of Gamescon and apparently the expansion is only part of the release. There is also an upcoming 2.0 update with an estimated release of 09/12. It's going to be a big one that contains revisions to the skill trees and perks, the cyberware system and combat and car chases. There's also a completely revised policing system, updates to the interface along with new loot and crafting choices. So yeah, seems like it will generally make the game more playable and add additional stuff. Which explains the game ready driver release. It's also free, unlike the Phantom Liberty expansion.

OK, the new Phantom Liberty trailer looks very interesting, especially with Idris Elba being a main character, maybe even the protagonist character?

I've been waiting for this update before playing again. I personally thought Cyberpunk was already a great game at launch, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing how it is now.


EDIT: December 12th: I'm back into this game, and once again loving it. Unfortunately, I still stink at driving cars. Like, really stink. Good thing I'm not as bad in real-life. I'd have lost my license years ago.

Regardless, I found some performance tweaks for my laptop and the game is running silky smooth on high or ultra settings even with the Phantom Liberty expansion. Since I'm finding the quests difficult at low levels I'm just cruising around on foot looking cool in my sparkly gear and looking for trouble.
