I think that since the keypad buttons emit different sounds, you need to find the sound or combination of sounds that mimic a Yamaha motorcycle.

Whist waiting for a solution I have deftly been manipulating the keys, but all I could manage was a superb rendition of "Stars and Stripes Forever", which by pressing more buttons had a full rhythm accompaniment.

YAMAHA -- Hang on they also produce musical instruments. The horrible thought hits me. I have wasted valuable time trying to open the door using an electronic key-board. Rats! (Ooops I don't want to open that thread again)

I think the sky-light will have to be the answer somehow.

Hi Gordon- sorry to cause any domestic problems - can we recap a little as I'm not sure what is in your invantory now. I can only suggest you take a closer look at your ladder as it may have a very small button that will extend it.

I'm also thinking of clicking on the Inventory to see what is left. Are the 2 empty buckets still there, so could they be used to raise the ladder those missing 6 inches? Kind of a dicey foothold, I know.

As long as the buckets don't slide. Is the floor slick? We don't want Gordon falling on his tush.

Since the rat is your friend (he wouldn't have been mine since I would have frozen his tail for a lockpick back in the kitchen ), maybe you should check and see what sorts of impressions he can do? Maybe munching on one of the buckets will fool the audio lock.

So what's left. Time to revisit the old backpack, as my memory is not what it was, and its a long long way to travel back through this thread for a check.

Two empty buckets, oil lamp, matches, 3 large rocks, 20 foot ladder, metal lever, a spade, kitchen knife, ball of twine, cooking oil, large plastic bag and sack of rotten pototoes.

The rat can no longer help, as he/she (I didn't know him/her THAT well!) is on the wrong side of the kitchen door.

The only way is up!

Working with the advice from sierramindy and flutist I place a large rock under each of two up turned buckets to attempt to stop them sliding. I then place the ladder on top of the buckets. It now reaches the sky-light!

Use the cooking oil on the hinge to un-"stuuuck" it.

OK, the cooking oil worked and the hinge finally moved and a hard push opened the rest of the skylight. Climbing up and out took a bit of doing but got past that action sequence and now what is there to see?

Whoa! slow down. I'm still out of breath from climbing the ladder.

Let's try the cooking oil on the hinge etc. etc.

I climb out onto the roof of the building, and pull up the ladder after me. This knocks over the buckets below, so no route back that way.

The roof is bare, nothing to pick up or use here.

I walk to the edge. A sheer drop of 200 feet on all sides to the earth below. The outer walls are plain, no footholds, no ledges, zilch!

A strange oval shaped room extends out over the abyss from one side of the roof.

I enter. It appears to be an office of some kind, but I explore and there is nothing in here of any use to me whatsover. I am just about to leave when I see something in the corner.

I investigate and find a large tumbleweed.

I leave the office, no salvation there. I must escape with my wits alone (God help me!)

My backpack must hold the answer.

It contains.

A 20 foot ladder, 14 pounds of rotten pototoes, a spade, a metal lever, a large plastic bag, a ball of twine, an oil lamp, matches, one large rock, and a kitchen knife.

This ones a teaser!

Hmmm, thinking going on here ... oval room, tumbleweed, punch line ... aha! Can't say more, can I? Don't want to be bleeped.
Back to the drawing board, I mean backpack, as I was trying to think of something to do with the tumbleweed, like set it afire for a signal that might be seen by the traffic chopper with the lookouts who monitor highway traffic jams.
That's out so Plan B is to check if there are any buildings nearby that can be reached by using the ladder as a bridge?

Gordon, does the ladder extend? Some ladders do ya know.

How long is this ball of twine - are we looking at absailing down the cliff?
Edit 2nd idea can we boil up the rotten potatoes to produce a gas to fill the large plastic bag, which we secure with twine to make a ballon to float down like Winne the Pooh?
