Hi all. I've found myself at the cottage with the cat in the box. It's not as simple as all that, but without giving too much away can someone tell me how to help him? Noticed the game is very straight forward so far. Loved the sign puzzle.

Thank you MaG. I did look at it earlier, but like the kitchen, I guess I didn't look closely enough!

MaG- thanks again for your help. Don't want to mess this up for anyone. I checked that head when I FIRST came in there. But was that creepy to have what takes place?! The Brits OWN subtlety. This is not normal.

Talked to Lucy, did the 'skrying', talked to Haddon and had a minor experience in the cottage. Haddon promised something, but I can't find anything else to do so that the next day comes. Any ideas, please?

Bubba,

Please use only one thread per game. You can find all your postings in My Place at top of page. Thanks. We can help you better if you do so. I merged your 2 thread together.

Be sure that you have checked everything in each room that are active. Also do the scrying and the seance (teacup).
Then go back to the bathroom to do one last check and then go to bed. luck

My question with this game is this: I started at the train station. I have wandered and wandered and wandered the beach area.
My problem is...I can't get any further. I would like a hint at what to do next to get further in this game. I am sure that I am missing something small which is very annoying at myself.
Thanks for any help.

Suzy,

Are you at the Saxon Shore where the woman and dog was or are you at the real sandy Beach with no junk on the ground?

If at Saxon Shore, go to diagonal bottom right where the boy was.
If at the real Beach, go up the steps pass either the cave or the boats. Have fun.

I am at the Saxon Shore where the woman and dog are and the boy hasn't left. How do I get him to leave?
Thanks for the quick reply.
It is interesting. The music is great especially with headphones. smile

Talk completely with the woman. Click on the water and/or on that floating thing in the water.

Have fun!

Well, I am dense as fog. I have walked all the way around the Fens. Tried to talk to the guy looking at the heron. Picked up sign pieces. Put them on the wall and read the sign. Read the two articles in the cave. Talked to the woman completely and looked at the thing in the water several times. He won't say anything except that there is something in the water. DUH!! Kid is still there. Saw the girl walk across the water. Looked at the two rock carvings. What else is there to get a move on? Tired of screaming Hello!! lol
Okay, looking for a huge nudge, not a rock upside the head but we may need that soon. smile

That's strange.

When you were at the Fens, did you see a woman walking through the fens left of the first poster of the Nature Reserve? oops you did that already.
You already read the 2 newspapers in the cave.
You already saw the boy and also talked completely with the woman with the dog.

--------
Did you look close at the gate left of the sea monster where you saw the newspaper? Not on closeup but one click away - click on the top part of the grilled gate and then you can look close. Wait and listen and watch.
Did you click on the building just after exiting the cave?

I saw above the gate where I could click it. I did and could here some whispering. Saw a vague shadow go across the screen in the background. Couldn't make out what the voice(s) were saying.
I clicked on the building that has the stairs and looks like a fog horn on the top.
I will go back into the cave and see if I can hear what they are saying.
I will be back soon.
Thanks and I am stumped.

The only thing I can think of is that you missed a dialogue tree after one of the intial list of dialogues.

The main initial listing of dialogues usually have another tree for most of them. Talk to the woman again and see.

I think you did everything in that side grilled gate already.

With the woman, I asked her about Saxton, a place to stay, treasure hunter, my name, the body in the water, dog, can't remember the last thing. Seems like it was seven things we talked about. Dang it. Okay...back to talk to the woman.
I am close to shoving her and her dog into the water.

Once you see the boy gone, then you can get to town on the passage where he was standing before.
Good night, Suzy.

Figured it out. Thanks for all of your help. It wasn't the woman, it was the current sign. It wasn't supposed to match up perfect, finally got him to read it.
Thanks a million. Wow....it is always the small things that trip you up. What a time for it to be my bed time. Now I want to play hookie from work tomorrow. smile

When you put the sign together, did you get a music tone and have Nigel make a comment? I know it looks like the sign is in the right place, but unless Nigel says he will have to look out for undercurrents, it isn't right and the boy won't leave so you can walk on to the town.

Edit: oh wow! Somehow I missed the entire second page of this thread, and you already figured it out. Never mind! blush

Now I'm well stuck! I'm in the very back of Hardacres cave,
Click to reveal..
the plank over the abyss broke when I moved the stones with it.
I'm in a cave with light coming from above and the only way to get out seems to be to open a box with a numbered combination but I have no idea where I can find out the number. Can anyone help, please

Has any one seen any little gray cells around as I think I've lost some? Reward for finder.

old lady,

There are 2 places there that have light coming from above:
One is the lady-sire area and the other is the smuggler's cave.

You are in the smuggler's cave - Use all of Hadden's toys on the fire pit. One of them gives a reading using numbers. Remember those numbers.

I'm wandering around redoing things (one thing was important), but cannot seem to make time go by so that I can get into the museum. Did EVERYTHING in the cottage. Any suggestions? Thank you very much.

What day are you? I don't know what you've done or part of the game to guess what has been missed.

Did you talk to the reporter and to Professor Hardacre? Did you click on the snappers material in the Bear? Did you click on the missing cat sign? Has something happened with the plates at the house yet?

Day 2, talked to the reporter, talked to Nanny Noah at her cottage, talked to Lucy near his harbor cottage (twice) talked to Hardacre in the cave, been through to the other side with the equipment (used the equipment EVERYWHERE I could. Nanny told me to come back to her later to get into the museum but it's still not opened. Been to The Lighthouse for meals (walking around with 3 food items in my inventory that I don't know what to do with. The Chicken is sure to spoil)

Oh, and clicked on EVERY cat sign I could. Even rang the number at the phone booth and blamed poor George for the missing critters. The plates??? Day 1 one of the blue plates had been broken, but nothing new with those. Did have the sound of breakage, but that was YOU KNOW WHAT.
