I played it several times from start to finish when we beta-tested it and Inferno is right,
it was exciting and a joy to play(still waiting for my boxed copy though).
I thought it was brilliant, Jonathan has such a wonderful gift for narrative.

I feel proud and privileged to have been a part of it
(the voice of Professor Oogle, AKA Philip of the Hollow Way).

I haven't gotten there yet, but I have heard Professor Oogle mentioned. I'll be listening for his voice now.

It's a great game so far!

Speaking of voices has anyone come across a way to adjust the sound parameters. I have just started the game and I am having a hard time understanding what Jonathon.....ER....Nigel is saying as the background noises are so high. Or is everyone using the subtitles.......or maybe its just me.

Used Subtitles here. I think it's the only options you actually have control over. Either way I didn't have trouble understanding the voices, but maybe I was subconsciously reading along?

Glad to see many people are loving the game. After my Next Life review seemed to be way off the mark of what the majority of people were thinking, I was worried my Lost Crown review might also be off the mark - LOL, looks like I was spot on.

I'm not having any troubles either Greyfuss. I do have issues with some of the ghostly voices, but i think I am supposed to.

Just got back tonight from a trip to Italy to find my copy of "The Lost Crown" waiting for me! I'm exhausted but I had to stop here and see what people are saying about it. I can't wait to start it this weekend.

I have been playing since Friday and I LOVE IT!!!! You know it's a good game when you find ourself thinking about it when you are supposed to be working! I really love the use of color , great story and the game seems to be HUGE! I was so tempted to call in sick to work !
I don't think it's anywhere near as scary as the Dark Falls, but I think that's because it's third person. That's my one and only complaint - I normally dislike third person games. It's just not as immersive and I think characters in a game kind of ruin the high level of graphics for me. I don't think technology is quite up to believable peoples yet!! But all that doesn't at all damper my enthusiasm for the game!! It's fantastic and it was WELL worth the wait!!!

I love this game, one of the best for ages. No edit that, the best for ages.
I do like the fact that he will not leave a location until he has finished so you don't spend hours wandering around looking for things that are not there.

I start to play yesterday, I was 3 hours playing without stopping... is incredible work that Jonathan and your team they had made, with certainty one of the best games that i played. A masterpiece for sure!!!

Just installed Jonathan Boakes "The Lost Crown". My initial concern about the game's format in black and white soon abated. The eerie music and sounds at the beginning of the game blend beautifully with the graphics and story line. Looks like a keeper. Thank you Jonathan.

I take it back about it not being scary - got to a part last night that scared the bejeebers outta me!!!!



This just may be my favorite game ever!

Playing now. This is one of the best games I have played in awhile. Creepy, scary, and altogether exciting. I can't stay away from it for long. Kudos to Jonathan Boakes (you did it again!).

Sassafras, I got to that very same spot last night also. It was the first spooky moment for me too.

My 7 year old niece happened to wander into my room (she lives with me) when I was exploring the church and the museum at night. She ended up sleeping in my bed last night!!

All I can say is:

I don't want it to end!

I started playing last night, and I'm just now about to begin Day Two. What a great game this is! So much atmosphere and tension, so many places to explore. No scares yet, but no doubt they'll be along shortly.

I started playing it for the 2nd time and I think I am enjoying it even more!

Just finished and I must say what a game .It as a little of every thing in it .My compliments to the maker of this game and are they planning to do another .Hav nt felt this way since Broken Sword and Tex Murphy

I love it, thanks for such a brilliant game.

A classic, for sure. Just finished playing it, after four long sessions since last Saturday. Mr.Boakes knows what he's doing in keeping you hooked to your monitor.
Apart from the typical Boakes atmosphere and fascinating story I especially liked the coloured details against the black and white photographic backgrounds. They reminded me a lot of Jaques Tati's bl/w movie Jour de Fete from 1948, in which the festival(!) terrain is littered with colourful balloons and small banners.
I can only say: Thanks Jonathan for many hours of thrilling gameplay!

A crazy weekend cut into my gameplay time but I intend to make up for that this week! I just woke up to day two after a night out exploring. It's fantastic so far. Love the creepy atmosphere.

No big scares yet but I'm sure they are coming...

I finished the game last night - magnificent, thoroughly enjoyed it.

I read that some of the photographic images/recordings included in the game were genuine and taken from Jonathan's ghost-hunting research. Does anyone know which these were? I've looked and listened, but everything seems to me to have been created specifically for the game.

I have to add my two cents as well. I just finished the game and it was simply fantastic. It kept me totally absorbed. I felt like I was right there in Saxton. (Was I the only one really really creeped out by Jemima?)

The game was so well thought out and developed. I love games where there's plenty of places to explore and lots of places to click. The characters were interesting to interact with and just creepy enough to add some spice. I loved the black and white background with the occasional hints of color.

All in all, just fantastic. Thank you, Jonathan Boakes!

Oh no I've come to the end of a great adventure I always thought of Syberia 1&2 as the game I got immersed the most but now The Lost Crown is in 1st place.

Absolutely agree. I haven't played anything in ages and this is just the game re-awaken my interest. It's spooky, there's loads to do, a total delight. Finished work early today and I've been playing day 2 for hours now. :easter: to all.

Incidentally, this was the first time I ordered games through Just Adventure. It took just about a week to Ireland; I was really impressed. Just waiting for Overclocked now.

I had a moment of heart failure yesterday when I struck a glitch with the museum lift on night two, I was just looking at the closed lift doors with no cursor and no Nigel to be seen.
But I've installed the patch and on we go, oh some deliciously creepy moments in the museum.
