I finished Dracula yesterday.
As Darleen i was very impressed about the good looking boy – but isn’t that the way the vampires win their prey over? By good manners and a marvellous look.
The contrast between Dracula’s appearance and his soul/psyche couldn’t be bigger. Dracula’s account in his diary about the way he killed the people at the banquet – what a destroyed soul could do this?
As for the end: I was disappointed at first. But then I realised that Van H. hasn’t used the knowledge of the papyri. And what about the shield - why didn' t he use ist against Dracula? Remember, that Dracula was before Van H. in Egypt: so is the weapon really the
one with magical power???
Dracula seems to have planed better than it appears at the first sight – he even seems much acquainted with the duchess. I didn’t defend himself, as springchicken pointed out.
I hope this all leads to a second part?
