I have several of the Broken Sword games and have never played any of them. Is it necessary to play them in order? I don't know how many there are or which ones I have.

Thanks,
Terri

I would recommend that you do - so that you can see the progression of the story. Although each of them are stand alone games.

There are 4 in the series. I love this series. Have fun.

Hi,
You're going to have a great time, following George and Nico. I keep at least one of the Broken Swords loaded to use as a casual game. I always either find something new or something I've forgotten.

Count me in too. I love the Broken Sword series. I think the first one is my favorite but they are all good.

It's nice to be important but it is much more important to be nice.

I suppose I need to look to see exactly which ones I have. It's been so long ago that I bought them.
Thanks,
Terri wave

Although I do like The Smoking Mirror a lot, Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars will always be my favorite. It really is a classic whatever version you play.

I just got an e-mail from GOG. It appears that they are offering the first 3 Broken Swords for half price, and they have just added Broken Sword 4 to their catalog. Finally, I will have a chance to complete this series. yay

just a warning on BS4 it does not support on board graphics & on some pc's you have to use 1 core to play the game.

Thanks for the warning, plumgas. Not sure if I would experience these problems or not, but good to know just in case. I didn't buy it yet because I plan on purchasing The Book of Unwritten Tales first. smile In the meantime, I'll periodically keep an eye on the GOG forums and see if they resolve the issue.

Plumgas, does this link only work with the disk version and not the GOG version? Also, do you mean you can't restore games at all, or you just can't restore games you saved prior to installing the patch? If it's the latter, and if it works with the GOG version, then I would be interested in the link. smile

venus,

If you're only concerned about the black characters in BS 4, I stuck a possible solution in Glitches.

the gog version has been patched & this new patch has been also released for the dvd disk version

http://revolution.co.uk/?page_id=7&game_id=7&platform_id=0

the saved games will not work for gog or this new exe file

if your gog version is still doing it redownload the exe file from gog.

Traveler, thanks, I will check it out if I have problems. smile

Plumgras, I haven't bought the game yet. I just wanted to make certain I was prepared in case I experienced any problems once I did. Good to know they patched it already. Hopefully, everything will be okay then. thumbsup
