I noticed there is another post below about a new Myst-like adventure game. I found this one, reported to be available this month, that seems even more Myst-like. Take a peek at the screenshots and trailer as you scroll down on the site. It's called "The Five Cores" and has 5 worlds to explore and solve. I don't know anything about the developer, Neebla Games. The FIVE CORES Dadguy EDIT: I see another topic covers this and can be found here for more discussion: http://www.gameboomers.com/forum/ubbthre...html#Post831947and here: http://www.gameboomers.com/forum/ubbthre...html#Post831211

LadyCav, you can vote on Steam's Greenlight to help them get on there if you like. Ana

I believe that anyone can now use a Credit Card through PayPal without a PayPal account. It is much more secure. This way you are only giving your Credit Card information to one secure place (PayPal) rather than many different web sites where you make purchases that might not be as secure. Of course the web site where you are purchasing from has to offer PayPal payments.

Yay! This game will replace the Myst 5 End of Ages that was thrown out by a well-meaning friend that claimed end of ages was a "no-no" for me, will buy it during the 12 Days Before Christmas this year. Will it be disc or d/l format?
Any w/t available?

The game is not even released cruise, there is no walkthrough out yet.
I have not seen any reference to retail. I believe it will be a download as of right now.

It's still in pretty much beta shape. No hints, and no walkthru. Worse yet, some "features" -- such as hitting F1 take you to a wireframe model of the game topography. I then can't get out of the wireframe without crashing the game to the desktop. There is no warning anywhere that this will happen, and it leave me wondering what other frog-size tech bugs are still in there somewhere.
It also did not load a desktop icon for the game. I had to find the install directory, and even then I had to create my own shortcut (pointing, by the way, to (your root)\The Five Cores\Binaries\Win32\UDK.exe in order to launch the game. The main menu is VERY slow to reset choices in my install. But I'm running 64 bit, and I notice it seems to think it's a 32 bit game.
It looks to me like it was released somewhat too quickly under pressure be being past their deadline. Nonetheless, I decided I'd buy it, play with it a bit -- then sit back and wait for a patch or two and a walkthru to try to really go very far into the game. Good luck.

Not sure why you had the problem with a Launch Icon...You can launch the game through the Programs Menu or create shortcut for your Desktop there. (is there a Program Menu in Win 7?) Also I don't understand why you would even want to hit the F1 key for anything. If you need help why not Post a question in the Hints Forum. It certainly isn't necessary for a developer to add hints and walkthroughs to their game. This was a labor of love by an inexperienced Myst lover and so far this game is fantastic and I give kudos for this Indie giving us something that has been too long coming. Heres hoping that they will be successful and continue bringing us more games.

It's still in pretty much beta shape. No hints, and no walkthru. Are you used to playing casual adventures? Very few adventure games have hints or a walkthrough. That's a recent innovation from casual game makers. The closest most adventure games ever get to a Hint feature is making hotspots light up when you press the spacebar, and even that is relatively recent.

I bought this game as soon as it came out. I knew as soon as I booted it up it wasn't going to be Myst-quality, but that's fine with me. It has its problems but so far it's a good attempt at continuing where Myst 5 left off.
