Hi all, i have win 7 PC , playing RHEM 4 and i need to know how to place a saved game that i got from MAG.any thought on this ? any help would go a long way to help me play this game..

You could try something like

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\RHEM 4\

if it's not in your Documents folder.

The AppData folder won't be visible unless you set your computer to show hidden files and folders.

Hi back again- its not in my documents folder.and i tryed all the ideas that you gave me, this is harder than the game itself.don't know what to do now.all i know is that i have 16 saved in this game but can't find one..thanks for all your help and patience.H.B.

Did you try making a save and then doing a "search by date" for that save?

Were you able to unhide the AppData folder?

Oh yes i can get to my save game.and unhide appdata folder but nada.i can't get anything for RHEM4 in my computer files or folders.no matter what i do. i think that win 7 is a flop.i had a easer time with XP..in fact i'am going to set up my old computer with XP on it.but that don't fix the hole that i'am in now..any othere thoughts ??

If I can get hold of a Win7 computer to install it on I'll see if I can find where it puts its saves.

Going by what the saves from the save game server look like, your saves probably have names like 1a.txt, 1b.txt, 2a.txt, 2b.txt, etc. which correspond to the save slots. If you installed the game into your Documents folder, they will be found in a subfolder of the RHEM4 folder.

C:\Users\<username>\Documents\RHEM4\DATA\DPOT\

If you installed in C:\Program Files(x86) the game may put saves elsewhere if it's having trouble making changes inside C:\Program Files(x86).

By the way, if you installed in C:\Program Files(x86) instead of the Documents folder, try looking in

C:\Program Files(x86)\RHEM4\DATA\DPOT\

instead of

C:\Users\<username>\Documents\RHEM4\DATA\DPOT\

and check the date and time of the 1a.txt, 1b.txt, 2a.txt, 2b.txt, etc. files to make sure they are the saves you made and not just empty slots that installed with the game.

Try the RHEM4 saves at ***Savegameserver***. See if those will load for you.

It isn't necessarily your computer. MaG said that other people have had trouble with her RHEM4 saves, which is why I suggested you try saves from somewhere else to see if you can get those to work. Of course the trouble there is finding the right one out of that collection of saves, but at least you can find out if they'll load.

Start by putting a couple of the saves in the RHEM4/DATA/DEPO folder and see if they load. You might want to copy the current contents of the /DATA/DPOT folder to another folder to back them up first.

ok i did that but it goes to VERS-text document..there is no saved games like the other games that i have played..???

You might need to dump all the downloaded saves into the DPOT folder, not just the 1a.txt, 1b.txt; 2a.txt, 2b.txt; etc. pairs.

Also, you may have already done this, but make sure you unzip/unrar the .rar files before using them because the game won't recognize them otherwise.

i have no files..that is saved files...

Hi sorry it took me so long to git back to you , yes !!i have other older game that i have played and i have saved game under there names..this is just about the only one and it is a new game and no saved games under this game .. huh ? and i think other gamer have had the same thing happen to them.. But you are able to save, so it must be putting them somewhere.

Are you sure it isn't putting them somewhere like
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\RHEM4\DATA\DPOT

or

C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\RHEM4\DATA\DPOT

or some variation of the possibilities suggested ***here***?

If you're trying to search locations in the AppData folder, you need to change your search options to search hidden folders. One way to do that is ***here***.

OK this is crazy- i thought that i would just uninstall and start over ...so i go in to do that and it said that it was already uninstalled ..DUH !! so i try and install and it didn't ..i just don't get it..i give up on this ..! i have Keepsake and Blackmirror to play now ..BTW this game is by someone i never heard of be4 the others are by GOT GAME.Is that a clue ?? again thanks for all the help and patiences..

I think GotGame changed their name to WHA2 or something. If you go to their old website at

you see a lot of broken links to pictures which have been that way for a while.

The announcement for RHEM 4 at

mentions the founder of WHA 2 being Howard Horowitz, who was also the founder of GotGame Entertainment.

I don't really know why your game wouldn't install if it had been uninstalled -- unless it got corrupt or an antivirus blocked it or something. Maybe a registry cleaner would fix that problem.

If it was uninstalled, that might explain why you couldn't find any saves or save slot files.

thank you for the info.i think that your right on the last part. it said it was uninstalled befor i really uninstalled it...????i just don't want to give up on it -so i just might have to retry and see what i can do to make it right this time..i don't think its the game so much as the way it was loaded !!?? i will surely let you know..H.B.

well no..at 1st the game loaded and i started playing and then saved . but now can't start game -i get -director player error- handler not defined- #baregister script error.what gives ? any thought on this ? BTW can't find the game in program files (x86 )its like its not loaded .. reloaded and it is just like the 1st with all my saved games -in the game but not any in the file of saved game.so back to square 1.

Seems like it's getting deleted -- maybe when it tries to save.

When you installed it, did you install to your User's Documents folder? If not, try that next time.

what ever i do -like when i click on say dpot it goes to this vers-text doc.??

Use Revo Uninstaller to uninstall it and start from scratch.

There is a file named vers.txt in the save folder, but it isn't a save.

You aren't trying to open the save by clicking on the save file, are you? You have to open the saves from inside the game.

Install it to C:\Users\<username>\Documents\RHEM4\

It should create a RHEM4 folder inside your Documents folder with the game inside it. That's what worked on the Win7 computer I tested it on.

You need persistence if you're going to play a RHEM game.

Yikes just hit a road block again,just about at the same spot as last time..

If it's a Hints problem, you're probably better off figuring out what you're missing than getting a save from somewhere.

If you want to use a save from the save game server, you may have to exchange the entire contents of your /DATA/DPOT folder with what is in the save folder. Then load each save and try to figure out which is past your trouble spot.

Finding the right save tends to be a problem with a non-linear game like this.
