Always wanted to play it again, but afraid of bashing head against wall to get it to run by tweaking XP.Thanks to GOG, am playing Thief after all these years on WIN 7. This is such a great old game-a first person "sneaker", groundbreaking in it's time. Even with the older, blockier graphics,it has you on the edge of your seat with great sound effects and humorous dialogue. The black and white cut scenes before each chapter are first rate. If anyone on the planet hasn't played it yet they are missing one of the great classic adventure/action games. P.S. my review is still in "Boomer reviews" Any fond memories of Thief?
People do not remember how much you know, only how you make them feel finished Gray Matter, playing Alice Madness returns and Deponia

I've never stopped playing Thief, but then I am a fanatic. Once a taffer, always a taffer. In fact, two years ago I bought a laptop and installed XP on it specifically so that I could play Thief and Deus Ex and all of my older games without trouble. Bigmamma, are you also playing the mods? There are some fantastic ones ones out there now, as good as or even better than the originals, some of them games within themselves. Which reminds me, I haven't checked in for a while to see what's new.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I have the CD version. Might try to get it to work again someday.
Are they dead? Yes. Unlike you they have but one life...and they wasted it for your sake!

So, regarding T2X, I'm sure I downloaded it ages ago but didn't try it because I couldn't work out how to get it to run.
Does it work off Darkloader like other FM's? And is a specific version of the game required? I have all sorts of versions of the game, the original un-patched disks, two already-patched versions from compilation disks, and the GOG version. I could do with some new taffing.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

L4L, I haven't had time to try yet because we have some stuff happening at home (my very old kitty is not well). I'm glad I've been reminded of this mod, though. I've wanted to play it for a while - new Thief is always welcome, in my book.
