~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
These two newfies are building a house. One of them is putting on the siding. He picks up a nail, hammers it in. Picks up another nail, throws it away. Picks up a nail, hammers it in. Picks up another, throws it away. This goes on for a while, and finally his friend comes over and asks him why he is throwing half of the nails away.
He replies, "Those ones were pointed on the wrong end." The buddy gets exasperated and says "You idiot, those nails are for the other side of the house!"
Good morning everyboomie.  wave12
Are y'all ready for a new week? happydance12
The best way to get into it is to hold your nose, and count to three and then plunge right in.  penguin
Ah........go ahead and make that a count to five, close your eyes, and then dive in. wink12
You know what? It's gonna be ok, I promise. Just count to 20, put a toe in and test the water, and then slide into it real easy like. smile12
Wait! Let's think about this. We might not want to recklessly rush into it. It IS a Monday after all, so have a seat, put your head back, close your eyes, and your mouth too please, meditate to the song "Aquarius/Let The Sun Shine", have a latte and a bagel, read the morning paper, serf the net a while, and then count to 10 and go back to bed. monky
We'll pick it up there again tomorrow.
Since tomorrow is Tuesday there's no need to rush it then either, so we'll just meet back here at....oh about noon or 1:00.
Sound good?  thumbsup12
Have a happy Monday y'all.
Did I mention it's my day off? wink12
joe
lol12 I took me a bit but I finally caught the title of this thread. You are so clever Joe.
Enjoy your day off! Will you be head hunting after your meeting? I saw your sons pic on FB, he looks so happy with his bride. hearts
Haroula, have a happy day as well!
Venus, hope work goes well.
Sue, Gerry, Connie, have a wonderful day!
Gail, I hope you do not have to go out in the ice. I bet it looks lovely on the trees.
Sharon, are you going to have a procedure today? If so, sending positive thoughts your way.
Darlene, enjoy the rain while you have it.
I am still working on getting rid of a 5 day headache. I will walk the dogs today even though I probably should let Merlin rest. Tonight is Salsa Funk. yay12
Mork and Monday! rotfl12
Gotta figure the minute a big project starts around here, where we NEVER have rain, that it will rain cats and dogs and possums and...
So the sidewalk project adjacent to my street started off with a bang and then it rained and rained. Today, an entire flotilla of trucks (yes a flotilla) arrived promptly at starting time of 7:30 am and took one look at the puddles and the now heavy rain and all drove (or floated) off. I'm assuming it's a no go for anything today, AND tomorrow, they are predicting even more and even heavier rain. We NEED rain, but it's sure strange that it only appears when there is outside construction work to be done!
Hey, maybe that's it! When it's dry and we need rain, we should plan a big outdoor project and voila! Sorta like seeding the clouds they used to try or the Indian Rain dances. Yup, gonna suggest this to the city council.
Off to the Animal Control today at 10 when they open. My tenant/friend lost the second of his litter mate cats on Saturday. The other died suddenly and quickly a few years back and this one will now be reunited with his brother. Friend came up to say, "my kitty isn't feeling well". I went down and found him almost dead on the bathroom rug. Friend never saw anything die, so I got him and kitty comfortable and petted the poor kitty and told friend what to expect. Kitty went in about 45 minutes thankfully pretty peacefully. I think it was kidney failure. He was going on 17 had major dehydration and hadn't eaten in 3 days (friend didn't really notice). Wasn't anything we could do for kitty as he was already 'down for the count' and eyes dilated, etc. He did however respond to tummy scratching (his favorite) by kneading one paw, and amazingly, he heard the clock alarm which friend set for 4 pm every day to remind him it was time for the wet food treat. He actually lifted a paw and roused just a bit. Felt bad for friend who is now catless for the first time in his life. As usual, kitty died AFTER the animal shelter was closed for the weekend. Ugh. So off we go today for the 'final' ride. Sad, but friend is now going to be satisfied with 'tormenting' all my cats (as usual). No more indoor cats for either of us. AND this will give friend a reason to clean his house of all the cat fur, litter, kitty tracks, etc. and maybe some of those many many cardboard boxes (kitty loved them). Sigh. Hate to see animals go, but at 17 it was time and it was painless. RIP black kitty (never did know his real name).
Off to see if we can do our morning walk, but it's so raining I think we will skip it.
Thanks Ana for thinking of me. Today I have to handle business that I have been avoiding.
Wednesday I have to go to the hospital to have a cardiac cath placed to do an angiogram. If the percentage of blockage is over 70 I will have a cardiac stent placed. If it is not that great I will be able to go home same day. If the stent is placed, obviously I will have to stay overnight.
This means from Tuesday midnight till after the procedure I will have to fast. Not even water. (Procedure is not till 1pm on Wednesday.) That is really hard for me.
When I am eventually medically cleared for it I will have to have a carotid stent placed.
Your good thoughts and perhaps fingers crossed may make it possible for me to return home Wednesday night.
Sharon
Edit: You're a good friend Sorta. I'm glad Black Kitty went painlessly and got to have his belly scratched at the end. Good luck with your "neighborhood watch". smile12
ReEdit: Ana, I'm so sorry I forgot to ask about your headache. Have you tried laying down with a cold cloth on your forehead? Headaches are bad enough without having one which lasts for several days on end. Hoping you recover soon.
Gimli -- Good luck and fingers crossed.
Hi all hearts
First of all: Ana I wish you a really speedy recovery from the 5-days headache. NOT fun at all, having a headache that won't go away.
!! Shoo shoo !!!!!!!!!!! Go away you mean headache and leave Ana alone!
(How's it now? kissy12)
I have (finally) completed the enrollment for the Faenza (Italy) ceramics competition 2013. Now I need you to cross your fingers for me. Problem is, you have to leave the fingers crossed until the End of January 2013. Could you do that? whistle andthankyouverymuch!
I hope your day was a good one so far and that your afternoon and evening will be even greater.
I'am sending hugs to all of you wave12
Ohhhhhh, just discovered Mr. Grinch grinch
Did you see the movie?
Sharon: my fingers are crossed for you and I will send good vibes! All the best!
Love!
Hi all. Just relaxing before I have to go back to work for 5:00. My clients are having a Christmas dinner party so I expect I'll be later coming home tonight. First though I have a chiropractor's appointment to go to. That'll help as I'll be on my feet tonight at work.
Sharon I'm sending prayers your way.
Rainy here but no ice. Everyone who has to deal with ice today please be careful.
Morning Boomers!! Made it through yet another wind storm..plenty of rain too. Not as bad with gusts at 67 MPH.... By the time winter is over I jump at a 35 MPH breeze, lol! I'm so sorry to hear of your head ache, Ana. Wish I could send you a cure!! Evelyne, short of super gluing my fingers together I will not be keeping them crossed for that long so will do as Nan, which works better anyway, I will pray for fantastic results!!! SharonB, my Uncle and now my BIL had stents in just the past three weeks and they are doing well. I think it is considered a fairly routine procedure but will keep you in prayer watch too. Hi L4L, I still have a couple of last minute things to get and have most of the rest wrapped. Hope everyone enjoys their day. Happy Gaming!! wave12
Afternoon; power on and off due to high winds here as well. Up to 55+ mph gusts but not as bad as Lotus.
May all have a great day.
All you boomers with inclement weather......here it's 73 and sunnysunny and I'm in shorts. I transplanted 3 of my 8 remaining robust tomato plants into pots and will plant the remaining outdoors in what used to the garden. Just bought some floating row cover for them and the next crises will be grasshoppers in the spring. But time to think about that.
Good and bad gaming news. The good. Zuma's Revenge came!!! and what a game. It's like arcade and I posted befor most addictive. So now I have Zuma Deluxe,Zuma's Revenge and Ricochet on the PC.
The bad. I'm really mad at oblivion. Got to be a vampire and tracked down all ingredients and that old(b)witch won't take the bloodgrass. It's a glitch and my dummyhead hero is glitched. And he is an 18 too. I changed language to German but that didn't work, maybe in Spanish. If not byebye Oblivion.
Ana, do they still cut the nerve over the eyebrows to relieve migrane pain. It was in the news a few years ago. All who are having health problems -may God bless and get well
happy monday
Son and I took the dogs to the park. Dark and wet and icky but no cold...I was in shorts and a tshirt and still got hot. I was the weak link...but we all had a good time. I hope it gets to be a habit. puppy
Thanks all, my head is getting better as the day is progressing. The walk did a lot of good.
manxman, hope your day was great!
Sorta, sorry to hear about black kitty. It will be hard for the owner to adjust to an empty house.
Sharon, you will be in my thoughts and prayers that you get through the procedure with ease. I think the no eating has got to be the worst part. eek12
Evelyne, add me to the prayers that you get accepted.
Nan, I hope the concert was good and that you get to yell BINGO at least once!
L4L, it sounds like a great mom/son bonding time and the dogs win too!
Midgie, do you have to help out a parties, or do you do that because you are a sweetie? I think that is a lot to ask of you. I hope the chiropractor went well.
Lotus, I hope the winds die down for you. I would be very depressed with your weather. I am born for sunshine. lol12
Trippy, I hope the winds die down for you too. How is your friend you were taking care of? Is he still at his sons?
Haroula, sweet dreams.
Yankee, goods luck on your games. It is so frustrating when they glitch. I don't know about the nerve cutting but after dealing with Bell's Palsy years ago, I'd never let them cut one in my face.
Off to Salsa soon...
Ana, elderly neighbor is home and up and about. Drives down to the little bar to play pool. Took him to the grocery store a couple weeks ago. He has a nephew here but he dislikes him a lot. Will probably go to the store tomorrow so will check with him again.
Wind is still gusting and actually took the front of a storage building off(heavy corrugated metal and wood panels). About a 40 by 20 foot section. Landed in the middle of main street about a block away.
Off to browse a bit then kick back for WWE.
Have a great eve to all.
