After reading through a few threads it seems to me some people have a misunderstanding about what Kickstarter is.
The core purpose of Kickstarter is to allow artistic products, inventions, literature and more be evaluated and supported directly by the public. More than just a "voting" system, it skips the middle man and allows the public to choose to directly support projects that would never come to light of day through traditional means.
Kickstarter is much more than a way to gauge interest in a product, it's a pro-active way for people to take direct action and make things actually happen.
If you haven't already, I urge you to visit
www.kickstarter.com and check out the many interesting projects on there and learn more about what KS is offering.
While it is true I have a project currently there, this isn't what this post is about. It's too late for my project but I wanted to speak to the people here and try to explain clearly that KS is an amazing way to discover and support amazing projects!
It's critical for people to do more than say they want something, they must show support. Most KS projects offer great rewards in addition to the item they're making. In the case of games, it's about the equivalent of "pre-ordering", often times at big discounts.
So, if you haven't already, please visit the website and check it out, see what's going on. Support your personal tastes and encourage more development from passionate creators! I'm sure once you see the amazing things people are working on you'll want to check back often too!
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
