I'm having real trouble figuring out how to examine objects in the inventory in this game. I downloaded it on Gamersgate and it seems to be a different version from the one I played over 10 years ago. Can anyone advise? I don't have a manual with the game.

Hi pamella,

From GB's walkthrough:

A right click opens your inventory at the bottom of the screen. Place the bag over one of the inventory slots, and click again to place it here. Another right click closes the inventory bar. Note the other buttons on the inventory bar: the one on the bottom left returns you to the main game page (to save, load, quit, etc.); the eye above it gives a close-up of selected inventory items (you must grasp them first); the map to the right brings up a large scale map of the area;, and the bottom right symbol allows access to the encyclopedia pages.

Does that help, or does the game still seem different? smile

Hi Rushes,

No, the inventory in this game is different. There is no eye icon to examine things in the inventory. What you have is a little box on the bottom right side of the game interface which you left click on to access the inventory. There isn't a way to examine things in the inventory, or not that I can see.

That's strange that they've rejigged how the inventory works. I've rootled around for more information, but the majority seems to be for the original release.

I did find this at Gamasutra:

You store the objects in an interactive inventory , then access them through the constantly displayed rapid inventory and make them into the equipment that helps you interact with your surroundings and the characters you encounter.

But I don't think that'll be of much help to you either. think

Perhaps someone familiar with the new version can advise us here, let's wait.

I haven't played the new version, but have you tried right-clicking or double-clicking the inventory item to examine it?

Yeah, I've tried Jenny. I'm still playing, and I've managed to progress through the game regardless. I think this version is a watered down one of the original, and the option to examine stuff in the inventory is just not there. Thanks for trying to help folks. Much appreciated.
