Hey, everybody, wave
can someone help
me with this game?

I have one level to go,
but suddenly I'm getting
this message: "game.exe
has encountered a problem
and needs to close. Tell
Microsoft about this problem."

This happens every time I
need to start over a parti-
cular scene. The message
won't let me get back into
the game until I agree, or
don't agree, to report the
problem. Eventually, I get back,
but it takes awhile!

I've disabled my anti-virus
program, I'm in compatibility
mode and I don't have any programs
running in the background.

I don't know what else to do!
Any assistance would be appre-
ciated!

Thanks, everybody!

No, Jenny.
I have Windows XP.
I'm on level 4 with
one more level to go.
I've had no problems
until now.

What happened is that
I couldn't solve a
puzzle on level 4 and
kept being thrown back
to the starting point,
naturally. But when I
would reload to continue
the game, this error message
would appear! This hap-
pened so many times that
I just stopped!

As I said before, I dis-
abled my anti-virus pro-
gram, I'm in the appropriate
compatibility mode and I have
no other programs running in
the background.

So, I don't know what the
problem is.

Thanks, Jenny.

It sounds like the save you're playing from got corrupted. Go back to a previous save and see if you have the same problem.

Great! I hope you didn't have to go too far back.
But at least it's working now.
Have fun with it.

Jenny- I clicked on two
previous saves before the
game began playing right,
and during these saves I
discovered a couple of items
I had overlooked!

Could this have caused the
problem of not being able to
advance? Luckily, I was
saving often at the time so
I didn't have very far to
backtrack!

At the end of this game, since
I'm in compatibility mode,
what, if anything, do I need
to do to be able to play newer
games? I always thought Windows
XP, which is what I have, could
play most games without having
to change anything.

Thanks, again, Jenny, for your
help!

AserID You are only in compatibility mode in the game. It does not affect normal running in XP.

As Kaki's Sister said, compatibility mode only affects the program you set to run in compatibility mode. You set compatibility mode only for Mystery of the Mummy, so nothing else will be affected.
