Ah, I see. I never played with a troll. Does he know any spells? The first time I played, I started with a minotaur. It didn't take long to realize that was a mistake! I do think a necro is the best.

Maybe you should drop Ithilgore for Brimstone. He's a little better fighter, I think.

Barb, what was the problem with the minotaur?

He had NO magic & was pretty much useless! He was a pretty good fighter, but a dragon is much better.

Barb, that sounds just like my Troll. No magic, only great to start out with. Ithilgore is my best fighter. I put a lot of points into Dragon Ability. He's even better than Duroth. I have to give Duroth's more Dragon Ability. So, I guess I'll just stick with the two of them.


Finished the game. Was nice playing an oldie again. Barb, you were right, my troll wore a couple rings to help disarm, and chests weren't a problem.

Hi everyone. I've never played the Might and Magic games, but reading all of your posts is making me interested! I was wondering---is this MM8 a Multiplayer game or Single player? I'm not crazy about multiplayer games, but if it's single I might have to give it a try.

Definitely not multi-player - as looney4labs so rightly says - or I certainly wouldn't be running it !!

It's a great series, with Might & Magic VI being the most popular, I believe.

But I'm very much enjoying M&M8, too

Glad you're playing too Mad--along with so many others. I might have to pop my head in and ask for help soon! (I just downloaded and installed the game from GOG.com so I'm excited about trying it out! )

Hi Tracy, Glad you are trying out the game. I love all the older Might and Magic games. 6 through 9, but 6 and 7 are my favorite.

btw---It's so much fun to have found yet another "old' game that I've never played. I LOVE the old-style graphics of games from this era and so I think that alone will make me happy. lol I think I should put in a plug for GOG too while I'm here because without them, I'd never be able play the oldies but goodies on this new PC!
