After 7 years,I'm finally purchasing a top of the line Dell(XPS 8500)gaming PC,with a new widescreen monitor and all the bells and whistles. I'm lucky enough it still will come with Win 7 (I hate Win 8 at work, and would actually prefer to keep Win XP,but no go on THAT one).
My question(s):
All of my favorite games (at least a dozen of them) are listed on the box as not having Win 7 as an option (most of them have Win XP or even earlier systems,of course..some are YEARS old)....they've ALL run on Win XP for me. I won't have a problem with my dozen or so GOG games (since all I have to do...I ASSUME...is re-install these from the GOG site, as Win7)...but these other games...such as Anacapri,Barrow Hill,Lost Crown,Tunguska,Secret Files 2,Mysterious Island,etc etc...since they don't have Win XP as an install option, then I assume I will not be able to re-install them and NOT be able to play them anymore?
I would hope this isn't the case,but I fear this might be so?
I am going to re-post this in the TECH board on GB as well,so pelase forgive the double post. The PC is being delivered within a week.
If I can't re-install or play them...oook on the games sold board becausae there will be a treasure trove of adventure games I'll be selling :-)

Quite a few older games will run on Windows 7. Check out the thread here and also here.

This is just a starting point, of course. wave

I doubt you'll have any issues with most games, the only exception would be older games that were designed for earlier version of Windows. Games from GOG should work just fine, the oldies generally run under Dosbox.

So far as I'm aware there is no limit to the number of times you can re-download games from GOG (the same is true for those purchased from Amazon).

If you have any that don't cooperate, just post it here smile
