The minute I saw your post, I knew it was the pentagram puzzle you were writing about. grin Real popular, that puzzle. If it will help, Kheops has a video on YouTube showing you how to do it.

Yikes-back again, just hit a road block !!and I thought that the pentagram puzzle was hard..ok this is the deal- trying to do this blood testing on all the blood in the cabnet done,i got fresh blood and so on.and I think that I got all the steps right and entered into theblood test report but not so..now do I have to start over and redo from Dr.Kruger's research and re sterilize the medical equipment..and go on from there..??I don't know how to git rid of all the blood samples.and I think that starting over would be easier to do.that do you think ?? crazy

If I remember correctly, you can dump the experiment on the sink. See that is the one.

I don't think you need to sterilize afterwards, at least I don't remember doing it. lol

See if it is restarted; if you pull out of the puzzle and then come back.

Check this old thread to see if it helps. luck

This is a picky process.

Have you turned on the red light before doing the process?
Did you time it 12 - 7 -7 for each solution?
Are your solutions properly made?

The middle tray should stop any reaction and the last tray fixes it.

Can you double check that solution in the last tray.

My saves are not labeled.

Right across the gypsy is a path. Luana opened that path for you.
This is a crossroad - so take the path on the left with Luana on your right.

Ah - that means you have not done all that is necessary to proceed yet.

Chief posted this for a gamer that had your problem:
you need those: Maria's bloody shawl, ashes from a tomb beside a wild rose bush, also at the cemetery in Martha's mauseleum a ring, rose from the rose bush on the side of the road going to the castle, the forked slingshot from Ionel and berries found in front of the castle.

They're the berries from the Rowan tree.
The tree is up at Castle of Twilight at the end of the road by the crossroad.

This is the list:
Maria's bloody shawl, ashes from a tomb beside a wild rose bush, also at the cemetery in Martha's mauseleum a ring, rose from the rose bush on the side of the road going to the castle, the forked slingshot from Ionel and berries found in front of the castle.

So visit the cemetery and look for those that can be found there: ashes, ring.
Walk the road to the castle and get the rose; then pick the berries.
Talk to Ionel and see if you can get the slingshot.

Rose: Use the knife to cut roses from the rose bush beside the grave of Luciana Hartner or from the bush on the left side of the road going to the castle.

Ashes: go to the tomb at the end beside a wild rose bush.
Use the shovel on the lid of the tomb. Take ashes from the body with a stake driven on the chest.

Slingshot:Go to Ionel again at the end of the road from the cemetery.
Give him the gramophone and in exchange, you can look in his treasure bag.
Take the forked stick-slingshot-hazel wand.

From MaG's walkthrough:

Quote:
Go to the cemetery. Talk to the gravedigger sitting on the steps leading to the church.

Give him the matches in exchange for the use of the shovel. Take the shovel.

If you are at the point where Luana is saying to know your enemies first, here are some things to consider:

Click to reveal..
Look in your journal at your objectives. Is everything crossed off?
Have you done the P tests?
Have you played the new wax cylinder?
Have you enlarged and examined the microfilm?
Have you found Janos?
Have you deciphered both of Janos's letters?
Have you phoned everyone?
Did you put all the paintings in Maria's room in order (including the one on the floor)?
Have you used the magnifying glass on everything you can?

Let us know how it goes.

A lot of gamers have been stumped here. Usually, they miss clicking all active items and reading them in Janos' room and your room. Some have missed things in the Clinic.
Usually it is a leaflet that is tucked in the file in the drawer in Janos' room.
Be sure to also read everything you collected in documents.
Go back and click everything there.

----- Knowing your enemies means - learn through reading that they are your enemies and know what they have done.

If you fail the blood, sweat, and tears puzzle and want to redo it, you just need to close all the gates. smile

In this video walkthrough here, you will see the skull and hat puzzle. Make it full screen and hopefully you will be able to see it better. If this doesn't help, we can try to explain it more. This is a tough game - you are doing great. wave
