I chose Expert mode for the demo. In this mode the game plays much like a traditional adventure game. Have been waiting for a standard edition game so I can use up some punch card coupon codes. Think I'll pick this one up. My only complaint is that the lists for the HO scenes are hard to see because the background color is so close to the color of the words.

Hi, Sparkle!

I just downloaded the demo. I have a punch card coupon that expires at 4:53 this afternoon, and I'm hoping I can use it for this game.

Susan

Edited to add that I don't think I'd pay money for this game, but it was worth a coupon that I would have lost.

I really have to stop buying so many CEs and have the willpower to wait until they are released as SEs because I can't find enough decent SEs to use all of the free coupons I'm accumulating.

Susan

I feel the same way as Susan. I sure wish we could use two punch cards for a CE.

Hi, Gail!

I've said exactly the same thing. I don't think we'll ever be able to use 2 punch card coupons to purchase a CE, but it would be helpful if they didn't have an expiry date.

I remember a time when BFG only released 1 or 2 CEs a month, but now it seems as though they're releasing at least that many a week. I'll have to stop downloading the demos because, if I really enjoy them, I want to buy the game.

It's a good game for all of you who love HOs. I also had trouble reading the items required in the HOs.

Am at the part where the detective goes back to the first crime scene. In the HOS, you are supposed to find scissors. The hint keeps pointing to a phone in the snow. Is this a glitch? Thanks.

I'm not sure, Laurette, but it sounds like it could be a glitch. Maybe someone who has played the game can advise you. wave

Thanks, Marian. I got out of the game, came back in, used the hint button, and this time it showed me the "real" location.

Weird.

I just finished the game and enjoyed it very much. I, too, had trouble with some of the HOS being hard to see.

Hi all.

I need some help badly. I am stuck on the decoder. It doesn't help with the hint and not enough explanation in the walkthrough. Please someone help me get through this part.

Thanks

Hi carla, I haven't played this game, but I hope that someone else who has will be able to assist you. Looking at the walkthrough, is this the puzzle that shows:

Thanks Marian but that's not it. It is the codex decoder under the carpet. I noticed Kazzmo finished the game and thought maybe they could help. Please?

I need some help as well. In Chapt.4 (The Subway), I collected all 3 of the electronic parts and the fuses for the circuit box. Installed the electronic parts, but it looks like only two of them were placed. None left and can't install the fuses. Is there a trick to installing the fuses or is this a glitch? One other person on BFG forum ran into the same problem.

I can't say for sure, but I hope it's not a glitch. Did you try exiting the game and trying again? Or uninstalling and reinstalling? I know that's a pain, though. wave

I uninstalled/reinstalled. Not yet willing to start the game over. I'm hoping it's a matter of exactly how or where to place the fuses simce there's only been one other report of this problem on BFG forum.

Carlahelp, I played game, but could not remember this exact answer. I went to you tube and looked at viedo w/t. This shows you exactly how to solve crytex(the word to spell on decoder). Order of the Rose w/t by apgplay and look at w/t #10. I hope this helps you.

Thank you, kazzmo. Carla, I also saw your question being asked on the Big Fish forum and someone said that you should also make sure that you have replaced all the lightbulbs in the overhead fixture. Maybe this will help you too. wave
