I go outside at 8:30 AM and find a huge wooden frame in the ground at my driveway that says:
FOR SALE and and has the realtor's name and phone. Uhhuh! What is going on? Full moon time again?

So I call and get the hubby and he puts the wife on and she says: I told the guy to put the sign at .... 2 blocks away from my house. She gave him the cross street of MY house so of course a 200 block house is now a 400 block????

Really stupid stuff. Hope a lot of people stop by to ask me if I'm selling. This is gonna be good. Realtor said she will send the guy right back here to remove it. I'd do it but it's taller than me and probably just as heavy.

Realtor came. I KNOW him! Took me awhile but finally realized he taught at the same school as I did back in the 90's. Nice to see him again. Nice guy. He managed to wiggle the sign post out.It was only in about 8". He just leaned on it and it fell over. Thank goodness he moved it. It probably would have fallen over in the wind.

So I loaned him my pliers to remove the hanging sign, and WE walked it down 4 houses to the correct house. Wasn't blocks away! Wife had the numbers all reversed.

So he's apologetic, I got to meet the owners of the REAL house for sale and we had a great time.

Price of that duplex (which was foreclosed about 2 years ago) is now at $385,000. Not gonna get it for that tiny place. I let the realtor know it probably was way too high but they will try. AND the guy selling wants his daughter with 3 kids to continue living there so it will be a ONE bedroom rental for whoever buys it. Not good deal. Daughter lives in the 1 bedroom now and is moving over to the other side. Tiny house, OLD, but rehabbed.

We shall see. Drama over for awhile till my neighbors start asking questions. One of my tenants drove out this morning so must have seen the sign. Waiting for someone there to ask me about it. Should be great fun.

Neighbor across the street (who still is not speaking or even looking at me) was on the phone and it was obvious he was telling someone all about MY situation. The sound carries across the street like an ampitheater Oh boy! Gonna be fun there too.

And I thought this was going to be a boring day.

I'm loving this drama. I just sent my sister (in Washington) an email with just a picture of the For Sale sign in my front yard. No note, no nothing. This should be very fun when she gets it.

I reviewed my security camera footage which clearly shows the alienated neighbor trying to get the best vantage point to hear what I and the realtor and the 'correct' home seller were talking about.

It was comical to watch him 'pretend' to be on his phone while leaning over his little fence farther and farther. Eventually he walked around the back and out to the sidewalk pretending to look at the tree out there. He's never been interested in the sidewalk or tree. Now he has found a great use for the tree.

Spy time. I'm loving it. He spent 1/2 hour of his time trying to figure out what I was up to. Lovely.

I think you need to write a book Sorta. Maybe titled " The Adventures in Sorta's Neighborhood!

Book and movie deal in the works. Should be a multi-billon dollar enterprise.

Got an email back from my sister, actually 2 emails each one more frantic than the other. Desired 'Gotcha' achieved.

I'm still laughing hysterically every time I think about yesterday's snafu. So fun. Especially laughing at my 'used to be friendly', neighbor across who must really be down today realizing that the sign was a mistake. Oh so fun.

I should go look outside now, since I haven't yet today. Might be an 'estate sale' or 'open house' sign on my door. Ya never know.
