I think when I left my pc (Cyberpower OS win8) it was the desktop. I came back to a solid blue screen with the white cursor. Any idea what's going on? Can't do anything with it, it's like it frozen. No doubt I can manually shut it down but before I do is there another way to go?

If it's frozen, then no. Hopefully when you reboot, all will be well.

If you tap your power button the PC may shut down normally and avoid the hard shutdown.
Did you ever stop to think and then forget to start again?

I did have to reboot and all is well. Wonder what happened? Thanks Boomers!

It could be the laptop went to sleep.

This is a tower and when Windows 8 goes to sleep, it doesn't have a blue screen. Who knows what happened!

If you tap your power button the PC may shut down normally and avoid the hard shutdown. This is the best solution if it happens again. If the blue screen has any message on it, write it down because it may give a clue what's wrong.
