So here I am again with one that's not even out yet, The Meridian Shard.
It appears to be very much old school and it's being made by one man, Justin Cuff.
The Meridian Shard was successfully funded on Kickstarter before I noticed it but it's still possible to support the development of the game if you're interested.
I liked the look of it so I ordered it (DRM free!), optimistically believing that it will come along in December or shortly thereafter.
(Nothing else I backed on Kickstarter has unless you count partial games like Broken Age and BS 5 so I really am being optimistic. grin)
It's pending on Steam Greenlight.
(I've read in the GOG forums [natch] that there are a glut of Greenlight games pending, many of which aren't worth a toot, but I really wish this Indie developer success.)
The trailer bills it as a 'classic single player RPG game' but you can have a party or go solo, whichever you prefer.
Take a look and see what you think.

"Best not to think about it. I don't want to fall to bits 'cos of excess existential thought."
