Each clue leads to two rhyming words. The word length is the same for both words in the answer and is identified by the number in parenthesis.

-A. a commotion (2)
-1. work done on a watch chain (3)
-2. odd couple (4)
-3. lock on a boat compartment (5)
-4. fallible relative (6)
-5. an alarm clock? (7)
-6. an abbey (8)[vl]
-7. go numb (9)
-8. a box of chocolates, perhaps (10)
-9. rebate for an organization (11)
-10 the act of adding more color (12)
-11. diagnosis that you're seeing things (13)

Sometimes lost is where you need to be. Just because you don't know your direction doesn't mean you don't have one.

Good answer, Bob smile

You must be a cat person too. I have a male and a female. They're my kids since I don't have kids at home anymore. But like kids, there's times that you love to hold them and other times you just want to .....well, I'll leave that part to your imagination, considering this is a G-rated site. lol

I see, Joan. Two Cosmopolitans! That's a lot of...um...reading! wink It appears that you're still under the influence of all that eye strain too. Your answer is good for #11 but not #1. lol

Nice, Michele grin I wondered if there were any two letter rhymes and that popped in my head. After thinking about it, I see that there's at least one more that I can think of.

I'll say "no go"

How about:

"Walk a mile in my shoes" or "a self-owned ratio"

Hi Cue, I am a cat person. I just have the one, named Sparky. She gave me quite a scare a couple months ago. She got some heavy duty thread (box springs cover) wrapped around her tongue and trailing down into her intestines. It took some time for the vets to figure out what was going on. After surgery and recovery and a few paychecks, she is back to her happy, healthy self again...a few lives short of 9, I figure. Since that episode, she has become more affectionate, for a cat anyway, and I'm definitely appreciating her more.

Good solve, Bob thumbsup

I grew up with cats. The two that we have actually came to us rather than us looking for them. One, I believe, may be a barn cat from the farm down the road. She's the spitting image of one of the females there. The other, I'm sure, was abandoned by our house since it was barely a few weeks old and couldn't possibly have made the trek from the farm to our house on its own. Unfortunately it's a common practice for irresponsible people to drop off their unwanted pets on a country road so they can drive away and forget about them. Eventually they either starve to death or, as I've seen more times than I want to remember, are killed on the road. Sorry about my rant.

These two love to curl up on our laps while we watch TV or snuggle up to us when we go to bed. If I dare to sleep in a little too late on the weekend, the boy will stick his nose on my cheek or give me a little lick to wake me up. Hysterical! Even though the cats were "free" we certainly made up for it at the vet. It cost us quite a bit to have them fixed and get them healthy but it doesn't matter because they're priceless to us.
