Hello Boomers,

I am at the part where the scorpions are running around I know what to do, but I keep getting kill, I tried the space-bar to save me sometime, but my cursor or me is to slow for this one.

Does anyone have a saved game after this time-sequence, I don't think I will be able to make it I am to slow for these time-sequences. frown

I would be most grateful. laugh

I can provide you one if you like... Currently, my save is at the point just after reading the riddle on the door (I'd have to do a few things before I get to and pass the scorpion sequence).

A note though... Using my game saves, you may not have background music. I suppose you can save over it once you are passed the point and it will hopefully overwrite the .sav file with your settings.

My installation is on the F drive.

I'll begin playing now and post it for you.

Okay, I got it ready for you. This is the point in the game (following my walkthrough) where you have completed the scorpion sequence and have taken the wooden plank and Parkey's bag and are back at the rotating room ready to start.

You can click here to download the game save.

This save will use Slot 4...

Fanatic, I can't get the save game to work with the game, it won't overwrite any of my saved games, or anything. I have all slots with saved games on it. But can't get the darn thing to work. Can you give me steps by steps instruction on how to download this saved file to the game. I think I am doing something wrong.

I had a little problem with the save game from your walkthrough Slot1 with the first slide puzzle, but got it to work fine.

But this won't download at all to the game.

Liz.

Make sure the files are going to the proper destination.

My previous saves included the \data subdirectory where you could just extract the contents of the zip to C:\TMOTM\ and they would work.

This time, you need to extract the contents of the zip file to C:\TMOTM\data << extract Slot4.sav/Slot4.tga inside the \data subdirectory.

I should have included the \data directory; sorry about that. Also, restart the game if it is left running while you do this.

Let me know if that gets it working.

Fanatic, I can't get it to work. I did want you told me. To extract the file into C:\TMOTM\data and I need to extract slot4.save\slot4.tga.

I think where I am going wrong is the part to extract the slot4.sav/slot4.tga to put in a subdirectory. I don't how to do this. frown

I get as far as extracting the file to c:\TMOTM\data, after that I don't know.

I am so sorry, I am making this harder than it really is. frown

Pretend your are teaching a 5year old how to do this cause when it comes to computers, that is how I fee. whistle

Cynch: My pleasure. I rarely get any feedback on the walkthrough just complaints. heh Thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it.

housewife: Okay, let's try something else. Hopefully, this will be easier.

Click here to download a NEW save I provided. Once you click on this link, I want you to refresh the new window that appears to make sure you are getting the new zip file with the new save. If you use Internet Explorer, you can press the F5 key (at the top of your keyboard), or you can click on View (menubar) at the top of the window and select Refresh. If you use Netscape, I forget how to refresh. I haven't used Netscape in a long time.

Once the screen is refreshed, I want you to download the file. Open the new zip file. You will see a TMOTM directory instead of the files this time.

Once you open the zip, do not click on the TMOTM folder in the zip. I merely want you to extract the contents of the zip to your C:\ drive. Do not extract it to any subdirectory, just extract it to your main C Drive.

Hopefully, you will be prompted to overwrite your old Slot4 files. Do so if prompted. You will only be prompted if you had Slot4 files already in there. If they extract without being prompted to overwrite the files, try starting the game and hopefully the save will be ready to go in Slot4.

If this does not work for you (and make sure not to have the game running when you do this), let me know. I will see what else we can do.

Keep me posted.

Fanatic, I love you, thanks you so much for putting up with me. And for your walkthrough is the one I am using, and it is precise down to the last detail. And for you to provide save games if anyone gets stuck, was a wonderful addition to your walkthrough, I don't think anyone else have ever added save games in their walkthroughs.

I think you were the first and appreciative one on my part. Keep up the great work.

Just to let you know how much I appreciate all your continous help.

As much difficulty as I am having getting the save game, and I believe it is me doing something wrong, I been trying the scorpian part as well, the timer only gives me 12 to 15 seconds to do all I need to do, that is not enough time to get the buckets, cover the scorpians get the plank, pick up the bag. I don't why others are not having this problem, I can't be that slow.

Anyway, I give a try again with this other suggestion, wish me luck.

Liz.

Hey Liz, you are not alone, I am right there by your side trying too, and not getting very far. I am going to try inserting the above saved game and see if I can get past it. And thanks for posting the question and this thread - it is just what I was looking for when I logged on this AM
Love, Betty Lou
P.S. Please post here on how you do so we know if it worked for you too.

Here I am to thank you, fanatic, for the saved game....I was able to download it, unzip it and move it into a good slot in my game. It was minus the music as you said it would be but a bit later the music returned so I guess the game is smart enough to make that correction for me. I really like it when something works right for a change....haha Thanks again.
Love, Betty Lou

Thank you for the feedback, Betty Lou.

I am hoping the music error can be corrected right away with a simple, in-game overwrite of the save I provided. Overwriting should get the file updated with your system's configuration.

Thanks again,

Hi Fanatic, No, you didn't say anything wrong and I know you were talking to Cynch. I was complementing you on your excellent work on your walkthrough, I know some of us are going to have problems along the line, and I know you are right there by their side assisting them. You have nothing to apologize for. In fact, I am grateful for all your help.

I try the new saved game you posted and Betty Lou tried it and it worked for her, I can't seem to understand why it is not working for me.

This is what I did.

I click on the link you provided, and refresh the page as you asked, then I downloaded compressed file to my computer, I hope it doesn't matter where, then I found the zipped file,I opened it and saw the TMOTM directory, didn't open it like you said, then I extracted to my Hard drive C:\. THIS IS WHERE I don't understand what else to do?. What else I need to do? I started the game and the saved game was not there.

I have another question. When I download the save file you provided, it says, "compressed file housewife[1].zip"," what would you like to do with this compressed file?" Which one do I choose?
1-save to a compressed folder for later use or 2-Extract to a regular folder.

I am confused with this part. And if I choose compressed folder where do I send it to?

OR

If I choose extract to a regular folder, where do I send it to?

Help Liz

housewife: It sounds like you don't have WinZip/WinRAR/etc installed to extract zips. These are the easiest programs to use to get the files out that you need.

First, I want you to try to extract to a regular folder. Choose C:\ - Do not choose extract to a compressed folder. If this does not work for you, continuing reading on. Try the game at this time; it may be ready to go.

Because it sounds like you don't have any of these shareware programs installed, let's try something else...

Go to where you saved the zip file I provided (on your computer). Right click on it then choose OPEN WITH (not Open), then choose Internet Explorer. *I HOPE you have IE installed and not just Netscape*. I don't know if Netscape can do this, or how to do it in Netscape if it can.

You should now have a new window that popped up. What I want you to do is click once (to highlight) the TMOTM folder in that window. I use Windows XP, so I hope this feature is available to you if you do not... Next, click on the "Extract all files" hyperlink to the left.

An Extraction Wizard should pop up. Take the following steps in the Extraction Wizard...

1) Click next.
2) In the Files will be extracted to this directory field (at the top), you should see something like x:\housewife - You will need to rename this field to just C:\

Note: x:\ is the drive letter wherever you have the zip file located. It will be in the field, disregard the x notation I chose.

3) Click next.
4) Click finish.
5) Close any windows I had you open that you don't want left open.

Okay, I am hoping this will work for you. There are many factors that may not. If you don't have Internet Explorer installed, etc.

And if none of this works, I'd suggest going to the WinZip website and downloading a trial version of their software. At least you will be able to get the files out easy and to the correct location.

If nothing I said above solves the problem, I can email the files as attachments to you, or I can try to get Angelfire to host them as is (not zipped/compressed). Let me know what you want me to do.

Keep me posted.

Hello Fanatic,

The first two suggestions didn't work. So I went to winzip and downloaded there self-extracted version. I need to restart my computer first, and will be back for further instructions from you. See you soon. Liz.

Let me know.... If you want me to e-mail the files (unzipped), I can send to the address in your Profile. Let's do this as a last resort. If using WinZip doesn't work, I will post the files on Angelfire (if I can) and e-mail them to you as attachments. Let me know if you want them e-mail'd too.

Keep me posted.

Hello Fanatic

It worked, saved game you send me by email, actually worked. bravo This is what I did.

I downloaded the game to my C hard drive, I opened the file and Slot4.sav\Slot4.tga was there, then I took one at a time, first Slot4.sav clicked on it and press copy, then I went to program folder and open the mystery of the mummy folder, clicked on data, and right click to copy slot4.sav, and told me it already existed, do I want to replace it, and I click yes, then went back to my hard drive and click on slot4.tga copy, did the same thing like slot4.sav, told me it already existed, if I wanted to replace it and I click yes.

Then, I started the game, and there it was labed level 4, on Slot 4 click on it and was in the middle of the now destroyed rotating room.

Yeeeepeeeeee.

THANK YOU SO MUCH... for all your help and sticking by me all the way.... your are a true gem.... thumbsup

For anyone else in this same predictament with the scorpions I discovered this:

As soon as you pick up the buckets, and trap the first scorpion, move toward the door. Stop. The timer will go away. Save your game. Continue to trap second scorpion, get plank, get bag, get out of room. It worked for me on the first try.

Thanks for the tip, Fred! I must have done that since I was wondering why I didn't have any problems on this part and I was standing by the door. I only started to hurry up when I moved away. lol

Fred,
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for that tip about taking one step towards the door and then stopping. It works! I was going nuts trying to get this section done with no success. It also helped to use the "tilted" pail in my inventory on the first scorpion; couldn't get it to work with the other pail. thumbsup
