This game will do me in or drive me nuts. I finally got over to the prayer vases. (I did not have a close incounter with a priest on the way) I've clicked on each vase and written down the sounds the best I could. The pointer hand comes up on the colored squares beneath the vases, when I click on them nothing happens. Someone pray tell me, can I continue on, or do I need to get sounds from each of these squares first? If so how can this be done?

Once you know, you cannot, not know.

Prayer vases are in a couple of rooms. One room were more in a circle. This is the room where you learn to match colors, shapes and sounds. This might be the trigger for getting the priest to show up behind the flower when crossing the bridge. Then need to duplicate this sequence with the vases in this room by turning the 'wheels' at the bottom and playing them.

Never resist a generous impulse.

I recently finished this area of the game. Acornia is mentioning the room across the valley that has the audible sounds made by the prayer grinders. I did this on my own and got lucky. Here's what I did.
1) go across valley in tram and listen to all the grinders.
2) come back and enter the temple.
3) follow the walkway all around to the other side and to the end.
4) walk across the narrow wooden walkway over the water and past the statue.
5) enter the room with prayer grinders.
6) click on each grinder and note the shape of the grinders that make noise and the color beneath
7) click on these 3 grinders and change the color of one each time using one of the colors from the others that made noise.

It will take a few tries but you should hit upon the correct colors that go with each grinder. Note that the order they are clicked on is important and not necessarily L to R or R to L.

This is hit or miss but I couldn't for the life of me understand the priest anyway. I was able to keep walking across the path and listening to him each time by clicking on a prayer that made noise and walking back. Finally got tired of trying to understand him smile

Sorry I went on, but I hope this helps a bit.

Ok ..I finally got passed the dreaded railway puzzel thanks to witchen. smile .had a hard time loading the saved games as we couldnt find the saved files..but someway or other we did it..When I go in to talk to Santos in prison all he says to me is "hope that you will return" something like that. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="confused.gif" /> .when I finally get the bridge to stay down and sam goes cross and I enter the center house I see no flash of light and none of the doors of the other houses open for me. frown .again Im stumped. Im sure I did something wrong but I have followed the WT to the letter unless Im missing something somewhere. Help me please wink wave

Hi Urabeth,

The group of vases you need are to the right of the lotus priest.

Imagine you are standing facing the big statue, the lake is on your right hand side.

Go to the bottom, cross the bridge, passing by the statue where the priest talks to you in gibberish. Note the sounds he makes and what the words sound like, they should correspond to the sounds you got from the vases.

Go past him to the end of the path, turn right so the lake is still on your left, BUT your Back is now to the statue. Play with the first lot of vases on your left - Sam should make a comment that they are different.

Hugs

Wanda,

you should have been told that the secret of the houses is to enter each twice, but exit once. The centre house isn't counted...!!!

Regarding the vases: Make sure you're at the right set (Sam made a comment at the first set I saw), the ones across the wooden bridge. Set the 6th vase to black, the 3rd will become white and the 8th will be green. Then click on the 6th, 3rd and 8th vase in that order to make the sound.

Regarding the bridge: You mentioned that you got a saved game for the railway puzzle, perhaps this one was already solved. eek wink

Hi Wanda/honeymuffin....

Use the link to the walkthrough I left for you above and follow the directions line for line. Here's the paragraph where you want to start:

"This central house we'll call house A. Number the four other houses from the left to the right as 1, 2, 3 and 4, standing with your back turned to house A.

What you have to do: enter each house twice and exit each one once. You cannot enter house A. So by entering twice in each house, a total of 8, you will necessary have to exit house A four times in order to accomplish your task. House A functions as a reset. Every time you open its door, you reset the whole thing. This is acquired by experimentation...."

You are probably resetting the puzzle by opening the door to House "A" more than one time.

Start all over from where you come off the bridge, go forward, turn right and open the door of House A. If you are confused just follow one of the solutions given HERE IN BERT'S WALKTHROUGH .

Love, WItchen =O) smile
