I didn't think Malwarebytes takes care of Adware problems. I started getting some garbage so I downloaded ADWCleaner, installed it and when it ran found the little sucker. Even though Makewarebytes and Avast set in the background and watch over things, I run scans of both every Sunday morning. I've also started scanning with ADWCleaner during that time.

I'm getting bold yellow words in some of the posts. When I run the curser over them add comes up. I've run some scans but they are still there. I downloaded RegServo is it any good for $30. I scanned my pc and it found 3thousand that just doesn't seem right. I have win 7 Now the bold yellow words are gone funny, I ran a lot of scans maybe that helped.

I downloaded RegServo is it any good for $30. I scanned my pc and it found 3thousand that just doesn't seem right. I have win 7 Now the bold yellow words are gone funny, I ran a lot of scans maybe that helped. Do not download RegServo and certainly do not pay for it. It is a form of malware (rogue program) that pretends to find a lot of problems (which it either causes itself or falsely claims are present) and then tries to charge you money for removing what it put there in the first place. So yes, 3000 problems is ridiculous -- especially after you cleaned with MalwareBytes. https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110505022238AAoHJ9rIt's possible for MalwareBytes, or any other anti-malware program not to find everything. That's why some people suggest running more than one. But be careful which you use and where you download them from. Some programs that claim to be anti-malware are actually rogue programs that only want to scam you out of your money.

You have ALOT of bad stuff on your computer. First make sure you have downloaded your weapons from the correct sites, then I think it is time to go into safe mode and run them all again. I will see if I still have this one website address on my computer that has all kinds of weapons. If I do, I will come back and edit this post and add it. ---------------------------------------------------- Edit: This is an old website, dont know if links are still active. And all this in just the few short weeks you've had this new computer? Something is definitely amiss here. Have you been downloading a lot of stuff? And if you are, where from? A lot of the time massive infections like this come from infected downloads. I would also run CCleaner - it might find a lot of the cookies and other junk left behind by this infection.
I'm working on a laptop right now that had Google Chrome constantly getting reinfected - I was about to uninstall it, but the individual really likes it, so after Malwarebytes and SuperAntispyware and her Security Essentials didn't find it, I tried ADWcleaner. It does a boot scan and found the little sucker in a hidden file. ADWcleaner is one of my favorite little tools. Unfortunately, this laptop has a failing hard drive, so I recovered it as best I could and am sending it home with suggestions about a new computer today.

If you are still using Windows XP it might be best to upgrade to windows 7 or 8. Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft for the home user and no more security updates will be supplied by Microsoft. You may want to take the time to back up your important files and do a complete format and reinstallation of your operating system to make sure that there are no virus or malware still remaining. I wound not do any banking or credit card transactions on that computer until you format the hard drive and reinstall the operating system to be safe. You might want to consider buying an external hard drive and Acronis True Image so you can make a complete backup of your computer so if this happens again you can restore your computer back to when everything is running correctly. Here is the link to Acronis True Image. I have been using this program for about 6 years and it works very well. http://www.acronis.com/en-us/personal/pc-backup/

You say you are using Adblock Plus 1.1 which I take it is for the use with Internet Explorer, well I tried to use it and it dosen't seem to play well with IE and I am not alone, many people complain that Adblock Plus 1.1 does not work well with IE, causes more problems having it than going without it.
Although I use IE more often than my FF, since you seem to running into trouble (and lots of it) I would strongly suggest you use the latest Firefox and then use the latest Adblock Plus which is at version 2.6.4 for Firefox and Adblock Plus works extremely well with FF.
Also, take the above suggestion regarding ADWcleaner and also using these cleaners in Safe Mode.
If all else fails and since it is a relatively new computer, I would format my PC and re-install Win 7 (that is of course your new PC came with a Win7 DVD)
Good luck
Oh by the way, which Security System are you using? and I would also suggest you buy the Malewarebytes Pro, so it would be always active.

Every thing is going good now. Nothing like before. Very few adds. I use Malwareby Ant-malwar,SUPERantispyware professional, avast Free Antivirus, ccleaner. AVG 2015. That's about it. I use them about every other day. I installed Adblock Plus works good.

Every web page I go to avast says web shield has blocked a harmful webpage or file including this one when I have Mozilla Fire-Fox installed on my system. Is it safe to use Mozilla Firefox. What safe site should I use if I wanted to redownload Firefox? I'm using MSN now as my search. I just deleted Mozilla Firefox now everything is back to normal. Think I will keep it that way.

It sounds to me like you didn't download Firefox from the real Firefox website. Always download things from the manufacturer website which can be hard to determine sometimes. I would also suggest downloading and installing WOT - Web of Trust. It's a browser add-on which will place small colored circles next to websites when you do a search. Green indicates it's a safe site, orange means it might be questionable and red means others have found some real problems with the website. It's still up to the user to be careful, but it's a good little tool. Your can get WOT ***here*** And as I've told you, PLEASE feel free to email me any time you're not sure of something, including downloads.

That's right - IE especially blocks all downloads and you have to approve them. I thought you said you had uninstalled Firefox? I'm also suspicious that you have malware lurking somewhere too. It's really not normal to be that badly infected so quickly. Of course, just one bad download can do it. Especially if you got Firefox from a site other than Mozilla. It's available at CNET and they have become one of the absolute worst for including adware and spyware in their downloads.

I downloaded Fire Fox from the web site that Jenny gave me. Worked out real good. I'm using MSN.com most of the time. I never use IE at all. There is no spyware at all on my PC. I'm glad. thanks Richard

YAY! That was the right place to get it. But unless you change the security settings, it's always going to prompt you about downloads. I am glad to know you can get WOT from Firefox though... thanks, Jenny, I didn't know that. That's a very handy little add-on to help you know whether a website is going to be a problem or not.

That SUPERAantivirus Professional is a great one to have it gets some where the other ones missed. Once a week I scan my pc. Found a lot of cookies I know they don.t hurt my computer much I know I need some of them. What is SKYPE when I start up my computer it pop up. It's annoying. I have no idea what it is. Another one that keeps coming up A lot of the time is Windows Live Messenger(offline) Another question I installed a few games from a disk and I got this message(missing .dll) Is it really missing from my PC. hi kjos,
One more thing I would like to add, earlier on you said you use both "avast Free Antivirus and AVG 2015." Do Not use 2 Anti-Virus systems at the same time since they will conflict with each other, if it were me, I would use the AVG 2015 uninstaller and keep Avast, Avast is a very good Anti-Virus software and uses less resources than AVG, but wait for opinions from other users on this one..

So Far, So Good kjos, But I would go as far as to Uninstall AVG and Keep Avast for awhile and give it a try, I would strongly suggest that You Not Flip flop between A/Vs, this is not good and you will never know which works for you.

I agree with Starcom. You should never have more than one antivirus on your computer at the same time. I just worked on a computer last week which was crawling along. Somehow a free version of a second antivirus program had gotten installed. It was not supposed to be running in real time, but for some reason, it was still slowing things down like mad. Pick one or the other and uninstall the other one. I'd also suggest trying Avast first. If you don't like it, uninstall it and redownload AVG. I assume neither one of these are paid versions??
You mentioned Live Messenger and Skype popping up. Skype is software that allows you to "call" other people who also have Skype and talk to them with live video on your screen. This requires a computer video cam. Live Messenger is a part of Microsoft which has been discontinued in favor of Skype after Microsoft bought Skype. You should be able to uninstall both of these programs in the Uninstall a Program part of Control Panel.
I can't answer your question about the missing dll issue. Maybe some else will know.

If you uninstall Skype, Live Messenger may go away too. But if it didn't, you might just look for Windows Live and uninstall that... it's separate download from Microsoft that your builder must have installed. Unless you are using Windows Live Mail for your email, then you might not want to do that.

Good, then you shouldn't be bothered by them any more! Don't forget to email me if you EVER have any doubts about things like a download.
