PLEASE Is there anyone who knows were I can find a place to get a hold on the game called The Five Cores . I've been searching the web for this "free"(I belive) game. The links from the original place "neebla games" is gone. I was stupid enough not to get it when it came out. After that I totally forgot about it. Cheers

It's no longer on Steam or anywhere else and Neebla is gone. I did find the creator on FaceBook and sent him a message but since he only has 7 friends on FB I am going to guess he doesn't check it often. I'll let you know if he answers me. Ana

It's too big to send, you'd have to place it in a drop box. THere are some free ones out there.

If only I knew what a "drop box" is, Ana. LOL
I just googled Dropbox and found info about it. I'm not going to go there, however. I just don't trust "free". Sorry, Lagavulin. Ana, I thank you so much for the suggestion. Sandy

I use Drop Box and TheBox. I've never had anything bad happen. You can download this here.

You can SAFELY use Drop Box - also - if you have a GMAIL account, which you really should also have, then you can use Google Drive - to upload 15 gigs worth of files to !! If you install the Chrome Browser, also a "must look into", then you can upload not only 15 gigs worth of files, but you can upload a folder containing files !! Way cool and SAFE.
You do all this as a PRIVATE file storage - and/or SHARE an upload with someone who can download from your "SHARED" files !! COOL ??
Just my 2 cents :>)

Yes SirDave ! Now that you mentioned it, I do remember that I had similar issues with the install but more than that - the game came no where near my expectations.. in fact, I too never got past the first hour or two of game play and abandoned it! It was a very tedious experience as I remember.
I didn't even keep game files on my PC - if I did, I would have been glad to make available.

I should have checked earlier, so I apologize, but this was not a free game when it was released so sharing the game files is not acceptable. Once again, I should not have relied on the info in the first post that hinted at free and I am sorry.

Thank you Tigre! I didn't realize either - just assumed it was free ! It only lasted 1 hour on my PC anyway - not memorably either --

I must have been lucky as I don't remember any technical issues. I enjoyed the game's 3D exploration. The puzzles were a mixed bag, but in general it satisfied my Myst game craving. There are so few these days, I've pretty much stopped playing adventures all together. I've had Ether One installed for a while now. The exploration is good, but the puzzles are lacking. It's not really caught my attention so far. I've been replaying my old puzzle/adventure games recently -- Shivers, Jewels of the Oracle, Gems of Darkness, and I just started 9: The Last Resort. Playing on Windows 3.1 installed inside DOSBox -- except for Gems of Darkness, where I used the version sold by the "1click" guy on eBay (I had trouble installing the version of QuickTime that game used). After that there are games like Connections, Shivers 2, Milo, and RAMA, which also work with Windows 3.1 or, in the case of RAMA, DOS. Most of my puzzle/adventure games require a minimum of Windows 95 though, so I'll have to switch to one of my old computers if I want to play those. I might also try the recently released ***Lumino City*** game, though it looks more similar to an Incredible Machine type game than a Shivers type.

Jenny I posted in the Lumino city thread here. I just finished it and it is not at all an Incredible machine type game. It is very much a point a click adventure that is very puzzle heavy. I used the WT once for a binary puzzle that stumped me but other than that it was just pure awesomeness!

That's what I've been doing too, Jenny - thus far my choices have been Hodj n Podj (a puzzle game) and Dust: A Tale of the Wired West. Playing them on Windows 3.1 installed inside DOSBox. And playing Shivers in Virtual PC.

I worry sometimes that I've developed less of an attention span over the years of playing casual games. I played the new Tex Murphy game this year, in my usual manner with color coded notes, diagrams and descriptions. But sometimes I just want to get to the puzzling without the interruption of detailing the story and progress. I read the AG review of Lumeno City and it did remind me of the Machinarium games. I'll probably give it a try.
