Hi Chuck, You should see arrows to the left and right of the year that displays at the top of the bar when you enter the Newspaper archive. These arrows will allow you to scroll from one year to the next. Under each year you'll see a list of newspaper articles. Click on any title for Holmes to either take the article into inventory, or to reject it. There are three areas of Holmes's archives that you can access: Research, Newspapers and Encyclopaedia. If there is nothing for Holmes to specifically search for in the game just yet, then there won't be an option for it when you click on any of the three areas. Holmes will only say that he will search his archives when he needs to. So be sure that you have triggered the need for Holmes to search for "Dawson 1883".

If I remember correctly, once you open a newspaper; you will see a year on the top. Then there are arrows right and left of the year - same row. Use that to scroll until you see either the correct year or the article you want to read.

Go to the shelves right of the fireplace at Baker Street. That is where the newspapers are located. If you already triggered to see the newspaper; see the selection - Search Dawson, 1883. This will open a newspaper. Check the year on top of the page - 1883. Click on Dawson and Neligan bankrupt to read the article. As I mentioned on the other post - this is triggered after reading the complete inscription on the ring and getting Neligan to talk about his father. Also be sure to check the initials in bloody notebook and ask Neligan about them.

Chuck, Watch this video . As for the mouse, see if using the keyboard keys or changing first or second perspective will help.

Now - I am sure that you have not examined the ring correctly. Look close at the ring at the evidence room. Click-hold/rotate - turn the ring so that you read all the inscription. Holmes will note it if you do it correctly. Good luck and

You might need to walk out into the sitting-room first, to see Watson's reaction to your disguise. You don't need to wear anything too fancy -- just the sailor suit, and maybe some facial hair.
