I'm in the pump room. I've turned the wheel on each of the mural alcoves on the lower level to the correct position (I think) and have left the murals exposed, but I can't get the water wheel to turn. What am I missing? Specifically, do the diagonals on horse and lion need to be going in specific directions? I've tried the diagonals in every possible combination. Many thanks for any help.

Gamil, I've checked my notes on this game and I have the animals listed this way:

Horse-------------horizontal
Lion---------------diagonal
Scorpion----------horizontal
Rearing horse-----diagonal
Flying dragon-----vertical
Long neck---------vertical

Is that what you have tried?

The diagonal positions does not matter.

Double check if you have correctly identified the murals - the donkey and horse might be mistaken for each other. Also the dragon doesn't look like a dragon.

I finally got the water wheel to turn. The key was turning the wheels on the eagle and dragon murals into the vertical position with the hand in the THUMBS DOWN position. Thank you for all your help.
