Hi,

I finished putting together the picture of this strange man. I went to the library and talked to Bates. I asked him all sorts of questions and he told me where I could find the key to attic. I went to the attic and found the tower door boarded up. I looked around and came downstairs. According to the WT, I was to talk to Bates by the library door, but he wasn't around. I searched everywhere and in the library, but the only one who was in the library was Herrman. I was to talk to Bates and about tools and entrance to tower. I can't proceed as I am stuck! Where did I miss out? Did the WT forget something? Please help!

Linda, this game is very picky--you probably missed clicking on some hot spot. Don't forget to right click on things too...

I am almost to the end of Chapter 1 and I am in the tower. I am at the roll-top desk and checked the parchments, took the black rook, clicked it in inventory,to make a small knife. I checked the small cabinet and have a jewel box with a melody that Sam has heard befor. My problem is that I am supposed to check the drawer of the roll-top desk and get a untitled book. I can't open any drawers of the desk and I couldn't get a book, Diary, with a key. I am stuck here and if anyone has a suggestion, I would really appreciate it as I would like to continue on with this game. Would hate to start over with that last save, way in the early chapter.

Check the Jewel box (music). Check the drawer of the roll top desk. Right click the "untitled Book" to get key. Pull out of close up and use key on the drawer and get Diary.

When you pull out of close up from getting the key from the book - right click the drawer.

Hi,

Am stuck again! I am at the locked grate on the highest floor in the mine. I have tried numerous times to shoot that darn lock off. I get it on the second try, but that doesn't help! I try from close up and far away. Sam always stops at that same spot and shoots. Always misses and we start over. What is this secret to get that lock off? HELP!

Linda, when you got the revolver out of the locker did you also get the bullets and some plans for some machinery? You need to put 2 bullets in the revolver. When you get to the locked door, right click on the padlock to see the rusty part. You should use only one bullet on the lock, because you'll need the other one when you get to the other side.

Hi,

Well, I am almost through with the game! I am on Chapter 6 -Ornate Door. I went down left 2 screens and looked in opening, but I got poked in eye! Started over and went right 2 screens and looked in opening, got poked in eye! I couldn't locate the tailsman like it mentioned in WT. I found the helmet, and am at the ornate door, but didn't find the tailsman. Please help!

Linda, for the talisman, go two screens down and then left, and look in the hole...

Hi, I am finally up to the 2nd chapter. I did, what I think, was everything I should be doing. I have spoken to everyone and picked up everthing I needed. I still cannot get into the church. What am I doing wrong. Please help. Barefoot

The most common problem here is the letter puzzle. Check in inventory if you still have an item 'torn pieces'. Look close at it and move 2-3 pieces at top right. Then wait for Samuel to say something about the letter. It should then change the item label to 'letter to R'. Then you can go inside the church.
