Hi fellow Boomers,
After "fixing" all of the glitches in this game, I played and finished the game. It is an AWESOME Adventure game, in the tradition of the old adventure games we all loved, such as the Tex Murphy games. The graphics are incredible as is the music. The acting was superb. I HIGHLY recommend getting (if possible) and playing this wonderful old game. I actually own the original BOXED version of DSOM, which, until NOW, I hadn't been able to play for the last eleven years because of the "glitches", which NOW have "fixes" for. BTW, the ending of this game is marvelous.
HAPPY GAMING!
Sandy

Thanks, Ana.
I would like to give a lot of credit to the author of the GB walkthrough whose name is George Ison (GARR). It is extremely accurate and fully detailed. Without this wonderful WT, I don't think I would have been able to get through the game.

Where do I get the game? Is it a download version that has been debugged, or did someone make up some patches for it? I saw it on Amazon, and I assume it is a disk.

I am going to play this one again - loved it the first time and I'm sure that a second time play will be just as good.

Loved this game back in the day.

I love playing adventure games like Gemini Rue on my ipad mini and Gray Matter on my PC Netbook.

Fredaz, the game is available on a CD (there was a DVD version of the game as well, but that is much harder to find). There's a glitch running the game on Windows XP where the text doesn't show up properly, but someone created a patch that fixes this problem. wave

That patch works on my old XP computer, the game runs fine; however, I could not get it to work on my Win7 64bit computer.

Hi Fredaz,
I believe that the DSOM version sold by Amazon IS the six disc version, and if I were you, I would "grab it". It is quite inexpensive on Amazon. I played it on my WIN XP computer, and it worked "right out of the box". You have to get used toall of the "disc swapping" while playing the game, but I thought it was WELL worth this slight inconvenience.
CAUTION: Make sure you download the correct two patches and install them before you start the game, particularly the "NO-TEXT" patch. HAPPY GAMING!

OK thanks for the answers, where do I get the patches if I do buy the disk set on Amazon?

Fredaz, it is VERY important that you download those patches from PAGE 2 of the document that Jenny has posted the link to. The ones on Page 1 will NOT "work". I hope you enjoy the game as much as I did.

I LOVED this game and bought it from the Trading post here when I saw it. I kept my old Win 2000 PC that doesn't have enough memory to go online and use it to play many older games. It handles this one nicely. I saw some work around things that don't work on Win7. Will these patches work for me?

Never mind, I saw UNCLE REG's comment. Oh well, back to the old PC!
