Super Saturday ya'll puppy

I'm sitting and surfing and watching the Per play Skylanders. Once the sipping and sitting and surfing ends, we will be clearing out the boys' room and building the loft beds in there. We need to go get bedding, so maybe I'll send son with the boys to pick them out and up.

Is everyone ready for Superbowl Weekend?

Amazing! Our old power plant was imploded at 7 this morning. It was great! News coverage, helicopter view, all went as scheduled. The BOOMS were more than I expected (1 1/2 miles from ground zero). 40 charges setting off huge TNT and it only lasted about 10 seconds. FELT it. Like being at a 4th of July celebration and standing IN the explosive pit. Wow!

My house shook, the windows rattled, car alarms went off, dogs barked, my indoorsie cat, Bubba came running looking wild eyed. I petted him and he calmed down.

Now I wait for the news reports of people calling in to report explosions, or terrorist attacks, etc. from the great mass of people who never watch the news. Should have lit up the 911 lines. Hope no one got 'scared to death' but an ambulance rushed by just after the booming. Oh oh.

Dust went over the bay and was quickly dissipated just as planned. No fear of my asthma being affected. So neat!

My neighbor works as a custodian at the middle school 2 blocks from here. He had to rush over because EVERY alarm in every room went off. He called laughing about having to be sure all was secure and the police having to respond to 'check' it all out.

So my day started off with a BANG! Hope it continues to be a good one. bravo

Good morning boomies! Woke to a lovely fluffy few inches of snow. I promised the dogs we were going to play in it this afternoon in the woods. Little did I know that we started at 24 degrees when I got up and now it 12. eek I guess I should have read the forecast that it was going to continue falling and not rising. rotfl That's okay, a blast of cold air won't hurt me any.
My poor broken toe is very unhappy since I re-broke it the other day. It hurts worse than the first time. One day I'll learn.

Off to the corner to work a couple hours and then off to the woods. Life is good. hearts

Have a happy day all!

Good morning GameBoomers. 28F here now. Oh, how I hate the cold. shiver

Just got back from another week in the hospital. Darn infection! My cat gave me her opinion of my leaving again for so long. cat

I have to wear a vacuum pump on the wound for a few weeks which is an annoyance.

Good news! I'm home again. woot My cat has forgiven me. catrub

I'm going to a Birthday party this afternoon. I have mixed feelings about it because I would like to stay home and bundle up in front of the TV with a cup of hot chocolate. However, the party should be fun and I'll see a lot of people I haven't seen for while.

Wishing all gameboomers health and good games! flowers

Gosh g'boomers, take care of yourselves -Sharon, infection -Ana, toe and others I don't know about. May God bless.

Something funny for the day. I put the cats' chicken on the stove to simmer and set it on high to speed things up -you know- and a few min. later....Oh good greif!!..... it's boiling over!!! But no, due to my air-head mornings I had turned on the little back burner and that one was red hot but the proper big front burner with the chicken, cold. This time it was a blessing, think of the mess avoided.

You poor yanks -it's 71 here and the sun is hot. The older I get the more I dislike cold weather.

My game arrived today, Super Sniper. It's analytical -it breaks down sniping to it's elements. wonder if I'll like it.

Happy Saturday all

Ana, my great grandniece came and fed her this time. I'm told my cat hollered at her quite a bit and turned her back on her when she went to leave. laugh What gratitude.

Thanks for the well wishes Looney4Labs, Ana, and Yankee Clipper.

I think the worst is over, only healing now. But I still have to have the procedure to place the carotid stent. frown

But... I'm alive much to my amazement. I'm home with my best friend and things are looking much better.

Thanks!

Ana, how goes the toe? Did you hit it again?

Yankee, I have so done that so many times! You'll have to come to the Darkside and tell us what you think about the game.

The bed building goes. I knew it would take longer than they said, but the second one will go faster. We are to the double bookshelf. Once that is done we can put the mattress on and put up the guard rails. The rails go up 15" so we want to put the mattress on first.

We will also need to get a light that is flush to the ceiling for that room, but it is not happening today. Tomorrow maybe, or next week.

The boys are so excited. Sent son out with them to pick up bedding. But I'm willing to bet they won't sleep in there tonight. It will take son awhile to break them of the sleep-with-dad habit I think. But once he does, I think they will all be in better moods. Sleeping with kids is so Not fun!

Back later wave

rotfl so, I am sitting here working and my doorbell rings. I see my daughters fiance at the door with my grandpuppies. I talked to my daughter everyday this week and she neglected to tell me that I was dog sitting for the weekend. She thought she did. Guess who has a houseful again? puppy

So I'm looking at the new Seal webcam our Mayor put up, and what happens, but some 'we have rights' group decides to get their 'airtime'. We have a simple rope barrier during pupping season that keeps people from going too near the seals and scaring them or risk getting hurt by the parent seals. There is an ongoing controversy over the 'restricting' of the beach, but with the new camera, the protesters now have the full attention of everyone, every minute.

Yesterday, two of them crossed the barrier, lounged on the beach, and even dipped their feet into the surf. They eventually left. Today, there is a huge nylon pole sign that says OPEN, and a placard with a liturgy on it about the beach being open to everyone, all the time, for any activity, AND there are 2-4 guys at any time with beach chairs, umbrellas, fishing equipment, scuba gear, etc. out there.

Now this activity is perfectly legal, but it's pupping season, and the seals, which are usually lying on the nice smooth sand with the babies, are now afraid to come out of the water. The beach is empty of seals, and what few you can see are hugging the rocks instead of getting nice and warm on the sand.

Dunno where this protest will go, but the last time this happened, a citizen group gathered to harrass the 'interlopers' and the police had to intervene when push came to shove and punches were thrown.

What a terrible mess for such a serene setting where lovely animals just want to raise their babies.

Wouldn't be so bad if the seals weren't scared off by the humans. The beach is open for humans but for safety of animals and humans they are asked to stay behind the little rope. With the miles and miles of wonderful beaches here, there is no reason to HAVE to inhabit this one tiny place.

There have been incidences in the past of people throwing rocks at them, etc. One of the guys today was skipping rocks into the water. Hopefully he didn't hit a seal. I'm watching to see if the authorities come in and ask the beach goers to move back a bit. Loads of fun.
