Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful lest you let other people spend it for you.
Carl Sandburg (1878 - 1967)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The man approached a very beautiful woman in a large supermarket and asked "You know, I've lost my wife here in the supermarket. Can you talk to me for a couple of minutes?"
Woman: "Why?"
Man: "Because every time I talk to a a beautiful woman, my wife appears out of nowhere."
A young woman had been taking golf lessons all week long. She`d just begun her first game of golf when she suffered a bee sting. Her pain was so intense , she couldn`t continue her game. She decided to go back to the clubhouse and get some medical attention.
Her golf Pro saw her enter the clubhouse and asked,"Why are you back so soon?" What`s wrong?"
"I was stung by a bee," she answered.
"Where?," he asked.
"Between the first and second holes," she replied.
He nodded his head knowingly and said,"Then your stance is too wide."
It was many years ago since the embarrassing day when a young woman, with a baby in her arms, entered his butcher shop and confronted him with the news that the baby was his and asked what was he going to do about it? Finally he offered to provide her with free meat until the boy was 16. She agreed.
He had been counting the years off on his calendar, and one day the teenager, who had been collecting the meat each week, came into the shop and said, "I'll be 16 tomorrow."
"I know," said the butcher with a smile, "I've been counting too, tell your mother, when you take this parcel of meat home, that it is the last free meat she'll get, and watch the expression on her face."
When the boy arrived home he told his mother.
The woman nodded and said, "Son, go back to the butcher and tell him I have also had free bread, free milk, and free groceries for the last 16 years and watch the expression on his face!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This guy in a bar notices a woman, always alone, who comes in on a fairly regular basis. After the second week, he made his move.

"No thank you," she said politely." "This may sound rather odd in this day and age, but I'm keeping myself pure until I meet the perfect man."

"That must be rather difficult," the man replied.

"Not so much for me," she said. "but my husband hates it."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A woman answers the door to a market researcher. "Good morning madam, I'm doing some research for Vaseline. Do you use it at all in your household?"
"Oh yes, all the time. It's very good for cuts, grazes and burns."
"Do you use it for anything else?"
"Like what?"
"Ahem.. err.. well.. during.. ahem.. sex."
"Oh, of course. Yes, I smear it on the bedroom doorknob to keep my husband out!"
Great Female Combacks
Man "Haven't we met before?"
Woman "Yes, I'm the receptionist at the VD Clinic."
Man "Haven't I seen you someplace before?
Woman "Yeah, that's why I don't go there anymore."
Man "Is this seat empty?"
Woman "Yes, and this one will be too if you sit down."
Man "So, wanna go back to my place ?"
Woman "Well, I don't know. Will two people fit under a rock?"
Man "Your place or mine?"
Woman "Both. You go to yours and I'll go to mine."
Man "I'd like to call you. What's your number?"
Woman "It's in the phone book."
Man "But I don't know your name."
Woman "That's in the phone book too."
Man "So what do you do for a living?"
Woman "I'm a female impersonator."
Man "What sign were you born under?"
Woman "No Parking."
Man "Hey, baby, what's your sign?"
Woman "Do not Enter"
Man "How do you like your eggs in the morning?"
Woman "Unfertilized"
Man "Hey, come on, we're both here at this bar for the same reason"
Woman "Yeah! Let's pick up some chicks!"
Man "I'm here to fulfill your every sexual fantasy."
Woman "You mean you've got both a donkey and a Great Dane?"
Man "I know how to please a woman."
Woman "Then please leave me alone."
Man "I want to give myself to you."
Woman "Sorry, I don't accept cheap gifts."
Man "I can tell that you want me."
Woman "Ohhhh. You're so right. I want you to leave."
Man "If I could see you naked, I'd die happy
Woman "Yeah, but if I saw you naked, I'd probably die laughing."
Man "Hey cutie, how 'bout you and I hitting the hot spots?"
Woman "Sorry, I don't date outside my species.."
Man "Your body is like a temple."
Woman "Sorry, there are no services today."
Man "I'd go through anything for you."
Woman "Good! Let's start with your bank account."
Man "I would go to the end of the world for you."
Woman "Yes, but would you stay there?
Good morning everyboomie. wave
That's good 'weekend' morning by the way. thumbsup
I have decided to start the weekend early, because I think you all deserve it. yes
It may not seem early to you because I've altered your mind.
The weekend does not start for me until tomorrow.
I had to make a sacrifice.
I don't mean a human sacrifice, luckily for my sister. razz
No, I had to make a personal sacrifice, and remain behind to keep track of the real time. That's ok though, I'd sacrifice anything for my Boomer buddies. hearts
Even my sister. lol
So, as you may have gathered, and even if you didn't, it's Friday for me.
That means that tomorrow...is Sunday for you all.
Just remember, if you ever get confused just drop me an email, and I tell you what day it is. wink
Not really, I don't know what day it is half the time, or where I am the other half. dance
I know who I am though.
I'm me. kissy
Have a happy day everyone.
Good morning. Thank you Sir Joe for opening the diner for us. Hi Haroula, Sue, Gerry, Connie, Gail, and everyone who comes in after me. I have the morning off today. I'm being lazy but I'll go over to the exercise room here where I live. It's soooo convenient for me. There are all the exercise machines I love. Anybody want to join me? OK, maybe when I go over there tomorrow. Gail have fun shopping today.
See ya.
Good Saturday morning my friends
Live is wonderful, isn’t it frown duh
Yesterday, after reboot, as soon as I started the PC and logged in, I was attacked and got a nasty virus. Antivirus and Spam alert were/are running constantly, so why didn’t they block the bug before it hit my system, I want to know!? Bad people out there! And, oh yes, there’s an advantage in not having Internet connection. The bugs can’t reach you.
Weather here in Italy is cloudy today and temps in the 64F. All right by me, because Saturday is always cleaning day. We don’t want to sweat too much….
Did I already show you the pictures from the latest barrel (drum) firing? If not, here we go:
Drum fire pictures here
It was the first time I worked so big. The platters you see in the last pic are approx. 25 inch x 16 inch. So I had to ask our handymen for a real oil drum. He brought me a perfect one and drilled holes in it for oxygen. The firing was perfect, although the heavy wind while firing pushed the smoke back into the barrel and so I got a lot of black on the platters. But I like it nonetheless.
I wish you all a happy day and hope to see you tomorrow again.
Love,
Evelyne
Joe, hubby loved your golf and supermarket joke. lol
Haroula, Sue, Connie, SpaceQ and Gerry, have a wonderful day!
Gail, shopping for anything special? Enjoy the trip!
Midgie, no time for the club today, but that means I'll go for a 5K run and a stop at the playground to do the monkey bars. That's my daily alternative if I don't have time for a class. I always find time for something. I am glad you have the exercise room close to you. Your new place sounds so much better than the last.
Evelyne, I hope you got rid of the virus. Do you have protection?
Your platters are lovely! The black smoke just adds individual character to them, so I think it's great.
Whatever day it is for you, may it be a great one!
Super Saturday ya'll puppy
I slept in and slept great, which was wonderful as I didn't sleep well the night before and felt ick all day yesterday because of it.
Hubby took the 3 monkeys to the park for a walk. We haven't been walking because of the Keoki. His foot/leg have been more painful as a result. I stayed with the Kman as I feel way too guilty to leave him home and take the other 3 to the park.
Wednesday will be the big reveal....bandages off and stictches out. He still won't be able to go to the park or do stairs, but I think he will be back to walking around the room.
Not sure what we will do today. Son had talked about taking the boys to the zoo, but I won't be surprised if they just hang here. wave
We are having a Santa Ana. For those who aren't familiar, Santa Ana refers to the hot desert wind blowing towards the coast instead of the sea breeze blowing towards the desert. It makes it HOT and DRY. Very hot, probably in the high 80's at the coast and triple digits inland. Then of course it's the winds that really are the problem. We are all hoping that nobody gets stupid and lights a fire anywhere. Usually some nut does and then we have horrible losses of land and homes and sometimes life. It's 'fire season'. Starts in October of every year (when the Santa Ana winds with low humidity start). Crossing fingers for this weekend.
Upside is it is sooooo comfy when this happens. Dry air, nice breezes where I am. Feels like snuggly warm under soft sheets. You just wanna sit and sip iced drinks and enjoy it.
Cats (indoorsie and outdoorsies) are all freaky. Running around, chasing each other, chasing anything that moves or doesn't move. Meowing and following me all over. It's the weather condition. Happens every time.
Roofer, water heater fixer, didn't come over yet. I got up EARLY just in case. Saw him drive out in his truck about 8:30. He glanced towards my front door, so I know he is gonna be here sometime today as promised. He will make time somehow no matter how busy he is. Probably went to the 'work site' (big whole house remodel) to pick up the guy who did the new water heater. Hope he appears soooon. Doing fine with the drip into the washer, but really need it right. Hate projects that are not done.
Happy Saturday to all. catrub
Water Heater FIXED! Crossing fingers it's not leaking anytime soon. Guy who did the installation brought another guy who did most of the repairs. I had to supply them with a short hose (just bought it for this purpose after last week's inquiry), a length of copper piping, THE cutter for the piping, some masking tape to hold up the vent which kept hitting the guy in the head (funny) and a new shut-off valve with 2 new connectors, which is properly placed in the correct direction now and doesn't hit the wall. Wheeee! So far no leaks. For the price I paid, it's well worth the wait for the leaking to be fixed. Yup. I'm sooooo happy. No more worries. (Well at least on this one). rotfl
Nan, my vet does the same thing. Even the receipts have the dogs picture on them.
Well, I just made it back from my 5k as the sky opened up. It is storming out there now, so glad I am safe in the house. Off to shower and back to work.
Woot woot Ana, where were you running this time?
We are supposed to have rain, but so far...not.
Boys and dad are in his room watching Auburn play. Hubby is upstairs finishing up the nightly dog feeding ritual.
The bread was beautiful and yummy....wave
