-2. During New Year, girl becomes agent (8)
-3. Print dress concealed by angel (9)
-4. Something sweet from Missouri girls (8)
-5. Silver onyx cross removed from rack (5)
-6. Large, light coal (7)
-7. Quality of willows or small evergreens, to a point (9)
-8. Proper ceremony is announced (5)
-9. Worshipful one takes vow another time (8)
-10. Knit a bag (5)
-11. Sleigh went spinning from end to end (10)
-12. Man announced song (4)
-13. Without energy, pulls sleds (5)
-14. Overturn a fruit dessert's layers (6)

The moon is actually more useful than the sun since the moon gives us light at night when it's dark. The sun only gives us light during the day when it's already bright out.

Sometimes lost is where you need to be. Just because you don't know your direction doesn't mean you don't have one.

I want 7 to be mistletoe, but the justification is a bit of a stretch unless the clue is rearranged - "small evergreens" would be the direct with mistle (fine drizzle ) being a quality of weeping willows + to + e (a point). Probably just making a fool of myself again... sherlock

I was thinking of "narrowing" (double def),
but then "or small evergreens" would not be required...
"Quality of willows, to a point" would be sufficient...
Willow trees do come to a point, like triangle, at top ??

You boys just made my day. grin12

Neither answer is correct. I'll give you a hint: "to a point" is S. The whole thing is a simple charade. smile12

And speaking of fools (one of which is definitely not Lex), #14 was illegal as written. I fixed it.

Ahhhh....very nice, Sondi thumbsup12

Sue: "to a point" is S
Means "to a point" represents the letter s ? Curious: how/why?

Perhaps time to give Simon and Schuster a taste of the wet noodle? broccoli12
