it starts with "once upon a time"...sorry 'bout that!

Once upon a time there was a little red rooster
Who kept scratching the barnyard over and over
Until grains of wheat he happened to discover
Then to the duck and the goose made this offer

The goose said: no way...gee, they'll take me off welfare

Then I will, said the little red rooster. And he did.

He baked three loaves, which he stored in his pantry
The duck and the goose protested, demanding equality

The duck cried: filthy rich...all you care about is you
The goose cried: capitalist pig...you got more than I do

On a large picket sign they painted "unfair"
Then marched around demanding their share

The little red rooster was visited by a government agent
You must not be greedy, he said
Then seized over half the bread

But I did all the work, complained the little red rooster
Exactly, replied the agent, you really are a good worker
And under our system you may earn all you can
But after you must divide with the idle man

And the little red rooster understood what was being done
So next year he baked three breads but declared only one
