Priceless art and an ancient brotherhood conspire to bring thrills and chills in a stirring mystery-adventure game this summer! Weston, CT April 15, 2009 - Got Game Entertainment LLC today announced a North American publishing agreement with dtp entertainment (Hamburg/Germany) for Memento Mori (PC), a mystery-adventure game set in a modern world of priceless museum art entangled with ancient beliefs. Developed by Centauri Productions, Memento Mori is imbued with the mystery and intrigue of contemporary detective work, classic art thievery, and a religious brotherhood shepherded by a centuries-old guide to death. The game will make its retail debut in early July 2009 at $29.99 (USD). Memento Mori is not yet rated by the ESRB.
For all those intrigued by dark mysteries, religious conspiracies, and the machinations of the art world, Memento Mori will be the chill perfectus this summer, said Got Game Entertainment President Howard Horowitz. As the game was released in Germany in october, i was fortunate to play it back then and i think this is surely a game that´s worth to look forward for. Maybe not if you´re looking for a challenge, as the game is pretty easy and the focus is definetely on storytelling here ( just the way i love it)So, to me it´s pretty much an interactive movie without fmv. At the same time i have to say, that even though it´s not challenging i think the puzzles were integrated into the plot very well, so i couln´t really complain about the gameplay. At first i thought "not another Dan Brown inspired game" but that fear was whiped away pretty fast. It was nice to see that this is a pretty mature game, fortunately no humoristic things at all, but a way of rather dark and melancholic storytelling. Beside Dracula III, Memento Mori was definetely my favorite serious adventure of 2008. I´d surely add The Lost Crown, but while getting quite some adventures first in Germany, we have to wait until may, before we finally get our hands on The Lost Crown. I guess, i should have ordered it from the UK right away, but anyway, if you´re into something rather mature and melancholic, that puts the story above everything else, Memento Mori might be a very good choice.
