I played the demo for this game last night and really enjoyed it. I didn't even have to resort to a walkthrough, which for me is amazing seeing as I'm not the brightest star in the universe when it comes to solving puzzles. And the ones I did encounter actually made sense!

But the thing that really intrigued me was the way the story was presented. It seems that instead of the story progressing foward like most games, you go backwards to find out why these kids are going a bit wacky.

But I've played quite a few games where the story starts with a bang and ends with a wimper. I'd love to hear some opinions on it as when I checked some reviews they were, as is par for the course with AG's, quite mixed.

I'm one of those that think the story is exceptional, and the game well constructed. And yes, the puzzles are easy - the story is the focus (which is great by me, also with no claims to the brightest star! )

I'm in the same camp as nickie, I thought it was a fantastic game. The inventory and control system was as perfect as it gets.

All in all a great game, and a good story (actually one of the best I played last year). My only complaint is that it could have been longer.

I agree with Becky and Inland. It was worth playing and one of the better games of late. A very well done story with interesting characters. A few weak points in the story but those are minor. What is interesting is this is a game where you have a hard time liking the main character. At least I did. Though I liked it the game somehow did not grab me in total. In other words it's a good game worth playing but fell short of reaching the overall feel of the best games.

I just couldn't stand using that PDA every two seconds in order to progress in the game....It was so annoying...

As for the story ...I never finished the game

I really enjoyed this game but there were times when I found it too intensive but just couldn't stop playing! I thought the idea of going backwards with the story was a great idea & worked well. I thought the ending was excellent but it may be too subtle for many players. I thought the whole game was excellent but one where you have to play it through to appreciate but have to tolerate a few tedious moments on the way!

I didn't like using the PDA either. I guess I never quite got the hang of figuring out which recording to play to which person to trigger a response. I thought it was really tedious going through all of those recordings. I never finished either. I even printed a walkthough, but just couldn't make myself endure the pain of that PDA.

This game is one of my favorites. The puzzles are not the best but the story, graphics and voice acting are superb. There were too many recordingsto play back and that did get a bit old as the game wore on. The main thing that made me love this game was that you really get immersed in the story and feel for the main character. I thought David McNamara was really dishy and I loved his voice. Though, how sad is that, having a crush on an animation!

I guess I'm just a bit leary about the conclusion of the story. I haven't played that many AG's, (actually enjoy more of an FPS/RPG type game), but this one seems very atmospheric and I like the way the story plays out, in the demo anyway.

I recently played Culpa Innata and really enjoyed it, however the ending left a lot of things up in the air for contemplation which is fine, but also begged for a sequal. I hate to have to wait until another installment, (if there're making one) to get answers to questions I had from the first game.

I'm about half way through the Lost Crown right now and starting to worry that I'll have more question than answers by the time I reach the end of the game as there seem to be so many discussions regarding what really happens at the end. I I've avoided spoilers regarding that game, but not sure I even want to finish it if I have more questions than answers by the time I complete it.

Just wondering if Overclocked is the same manner of game or comes to at least a somewhat logical conclusion.

I also played the demo for Overclocked. And I, too, liked the presentation and design of the puzzles in the game. In the setting it makes sense since you play as a psychiatrist whose job it is to find out why and how the inmated in the ward is there in the first place. I also like thriller aspect of the game.

I'm just waking up to Day 2 and the prospect of playing this game is still exciting: the voice acting is exceptionally good, being pleasant, expressive and natural. The possibilities in the unfolding plot are endless and if it doesn't turn out to be as good as it seems at the mo', I've had fun up to now!

I definitely agree with THAT as regards MOST games !!

There are very, very few games I save to play again - this is one of them. It is probably the most interesting game I have played for a long while. Highly recommended. What pleased me most is that 2 other House Of Tales Games - "Mystery of The Druids" and "Moment of Silence" get my vote as the worst games ever made.

Hi olgeezer, to answer your question as to whether the game comes to a logical conclusion in comparison to many players' impressions of The Lost Crown & Culpa Innata - the story in Overclocked is completely self-contained with no sub-plots & is tied-up well in the end. Although no sequel is needed to make sense of the story I think there is potential for a sequel - I'd love another game with a similar style!

Well that sounds fine to me and thanks for the info. Funny thing is, even though Culpa Innata concluded with a somewhat open ending I enjoyed the game very much. I found the game world fascinating and would love to find out more about it.

Lost Crown started very slowly for me however the game definately picks up speed the further you get into it, and although I'm not sure how far in the game I am, (maybe 3/4 of the way through,) I am totally enthralled with it. Even if it does end with more questions than answers I don't really care because I've had so much fun with it thus far.

Anyway I'm going off topic but Overclocked does sound like a game I'd like and payday of next week I will pick it up.

Must admit that I followed MaG's excellent walkthrough (thanks MaGs!) shamelessly, simply because I wanted to progress the story to the denouement without being distracted. It became like an exciting thriller book in multimedia form and I was almost obsessed with 'turning the pages' to find out the answers.

The characters weren't cardboard, but all seemed fleshed-out humans with individual personas:I had to laugh at Flynn's unflappable reactions to Dave, most especially when handing over the handcuffs!
I really cared what happened to them and that's usually difficult to do in a game (the last time I felt boulders in my throat like this was at the end of 'Syberia').

Now, to find another equally enthralling game to play...
