Haven't bothered you recently but am having a bit of nostalgia and going back to my roots -- hence Tomb Raider 1.
However , having got to nearly the end of level 14 , I am completely out of health and no way can I beat the last enemy.
so , I have cheated and am trying tombedit as suggested by Stella.
After a struggle I managed to get the page with all the weapons on etc and adjusted accordingly --- but . I cannot see how to save that page so as to put in in the tomb raider "save" folder-- there is a "save" mentioned in the menu but it doesn't make sense to me (that is not surprise"
Any help for and 'oldie' please. --- peter

If you have made your changes in the tombedit program and are satisfied, then the "save" you mentioned in the menu of the program is indeed what you need. Just click on the save icon and it should automatically save your changes in the root folder and you should be good to go. It's been a long time since I used that editor but I think you are given the option to name the save game or maybe it just overwrites the save you loaded. Either way that should get you on the way with your changes.

Hello again Oldman--I pressed save but cannot find it in the root folder -- any idea where to look -- it doesn't appear either in the load menu when playing--I'm a little out of my depth I think -- regards -- peter

I'm not sure I understand. Are you saying that when you save from the tombedit program the changes you made don't appear when you start your game? That is odd. I can't understand why you would want to find your save in your root menu but then maybe I don't understand the question.

What I would suggest you do is use one of Stella's saves to get you to the point you are at. It will also have a full compliment of the items you need to continue. Also the instructions for where to find your save folder are at Stella's site here

Hope this helps. happydance

Thanks again Oldman -- I mentioned root folder because you mentioned in your first message that the changes should be made in the root folder -- I obviously misunderstood.--anyway , I seem to be out of my depth so I will go back to an old save , where I can find one with health and try again -- thanks anyway -- regards - peter

Sorry to hear that. I strongly advise you to try Stellas saves though because it gets you where you want to be with a full compliment of health etc. but its your choice.

I used one of Stella's editors in Windows 7, but I don't remember for sure if it was TombEdit or TRSedit and I don't remember if I had to run it as administrator.

It edits the save you point it at, so there won't be a "new" save in the root folder or anywhere else. If you edited your latest save, the changes should be in that save when you start the game and load that save.

If you edited the wrong save, then you won't see any changes.

Thanks again Oldman and to Jenny for both your advice. I've managed to get a save from Stella (I'm learning)--so I'm back on track. Game boomers never fail me-- regards-- Peter.
