Sorry about that Katsmom - I'm confusing what you played to what you haven't Those integrated video chips are a pain. I generally build my own computers but this last time bought one "off the rack" so to speak. It came with onboard sound and video and before I walked out of the store I had a stand alone video card in hand. Used to be all adventure games could be played on low end machines - not any more - the system specs are getting up there with FPS and RPGs. That's why I have a few computers sitting around me - one with XP, one with W98SE and my trusty old P133 with W95 and it's whopping one meg video card and SB16 I get bored with just roaming around looking at stuff - I want to converse with people - find out what's going on in their world and yell at them for doing something dumb

Katsmom with only 14 games in your unplayed pile you are a mere baby - wait till you've been around us for a while We hang out in the RPG/Action forum. I'm a recent convert to said Dark Side of the gaming world (hence the "not a clue") - I dipped my toes into the murky waters of RPGs and found out I love them - lots of stuff to do, people to talk to, places to go to-ing and fro-ing (I love to go to-ing and fro-ing). Makes a nice change from adventure games.

Thanks, my unplayed pile has gotten considerably smaller since school let out and I'm not volunteering in my son's class room! By the way I can't find my smileys where are they or where have they gone? I'm so used to them being right in front of me! Anyway thanks for the great welcome. I'm so glad not be an orphan anymore. What is Gothic by the way? Right now I am getting ready to play Aura, already played Missing thought it was great. Pretty cool stuff going on in that one.

You may never find your way back to us... ----- ----- I'm loyal to Adventure, syd; but... to you over there.

Gigi, I'm sorry for not answering your question - Gothic is an RPG And to get the smilies - click on the tannish reply button rather than using the quick reply box.

I get to watch them second hand... my son plays em and I can see his screen from my desk The only cross genre game I managed was Dragonriders of Pern and I did enjoy it thoroughly!!
A bounce a day keeps the doctor away!! Playing Sims2, Sherlock, Phantom of Venice Reading Storm Breaking

Playing more than one genre means never having to say you can't find a new game to play. RPGs do have fighting, but some of them are like a whole bunch of adventure games put together. Years ago I had no idea that some of the games I played were of a different genre, just thought they were adventure games with fighting. A consistent favorite over on the RPG forum is Divine Divinity, that quite a few "adventure only" folks have played and enjoyed. Lots of help there too for it, should anyone want to give it a try.
