I have no idea how this one slipped past me, but what a great game. Similar to Fallout 1 and 2 but much easier to play. I created my own party, got my rear end kicked thoroughly, started again on an easier setting with more focused characters, and now I'm off to save the world..again. Anyway, so far so good. I like that the choices don't always have good answers.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I haven't played this one, but thanks for letting us know you are enjoying it. I will consider adding it to my wish list on GOG. wave

That does sound like a good one. I'm in the mood for something like this, so I think I'll add it to my wish list on GOG too.

Once again, weeds are my life!

It's very much like the Fallouts but with a party similar to Baldur's Gate, with joinable characters all through the game. You start out with a party of four that you create, although you can just select pre-made characters if you want -- makes it easier to get started. You can have up to seven in your party, and that's without an animal companion. Fun character progressions, too, with quite a few skills and abilities. It's turn-based combat, like the Fallouts.

It was on sale on both GOG and Steam last week, so you might still be able to pick it up cheaply.

EDIT: Whoo boy. I just messed up a quest and a bunch of people got massacred. Talk about consequences. After much hand-wringing, I have finally recovered and adventured away elsewhere. Because the ones that died had stuff. And now I have it.... whistle

So far, great game. I recommend it.

EDIT: So, my final assessment is that this game started out well but in the end failed to live up to its promise. Not really sure why -- there were some cool aspects to it (I liked the character skill progressions) but the ending fell flat and the game just seemed to run out of steam. A good enough game, lots of fun, but in my opinion not worth a second run.
