Hi all,

Been a while since I've been on here. I have Dungeon Siege 2 on disc but when I try to play it
I have no cursor. Anybody know how I can remedy this and I do need "idiot" instructions on how
to change anything,

Waiting in anticipation for all you wonderful people to rush to my aid,

Steve

"No cursor" seems to be a fairly common problem in Dungeon Siege 2, and it's not limited to the disc version.

Here's a thread at Steam Community with suggestions that help some people

Here's a suggestion at PCGamingWiki
https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/1321-dungeon-siege-2-mouse-cursor-fix/

Here's a fix at YouTube

I'm not sure if there's one fix that works for every computer.
But there are a number of things you can try.

GOG recently began selling this game. I am wondering if the GOG version has this problem. I did read that the GOG version had fixed some issues, but I don't know what exactly.

Nice to see you, Steve - your last post was in 2012! I hope you can get the game working properly. wave

Thanks,
I'll check it out and see what I can do,

2012? I didn't realise it had been that long. I have gone back to playing games since we went into lockdown.

It nice to be remembered

Steve

I am going to move this thread over to the Glitches forum. Let us know how it goes and if you get your problem sorted.

Can't get it to work. I believe you have to go into the program files and alter
something but I'm not that clever with computers. Need a step by step guide lol

Which fix are you trying to do?
The YouTube fix I linked to has you edit the DungeonSiege2.ini file so the game runs at 800x600 and then maximizes the game window. Where the DungeonSiege2.ini file is located will depend on where the game installed.

The PCGamingWiki fix is a patch that was written by a fan. I don't know any more about it than what it says at the website. Their download is a zip file that unzips to 2 files --
DungeonSiege2_retail.exe
DungeonSiege2_steam.exe
The one you'd want to use for a CD version is the DungeonSiege2_retail.exe
I don't know how this patch works or what it does to fix the problem and I don't have a CD version of the game to try it with.
