About half of what I finally took for consignment yesterday is literally clothing I have taken in and out of the consignment pile every years for years. Fortunately most of it is classic stuff in good fabrics that's still eminently wearable. I just kept looking at things and thinking they were too nice to get rid of, and then the next year I'd be going through the same thing again with the very same clothes.

This time, it's gone. And I told the store owner that if it didn't sell, I want it donated instead of getting it back. I like to think that somebody in a thrift store somewhere will be pouncing on something nice.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Did you get much rain with the storm, family? We had bad thunderstorms here the other night, but hardly any rain - and we really could have used it.

Good morning, Danish, Donuts, and Bagels in the Break Room. We don't have basements in Fla, and I don't have a garage. I guess that's a good thing, I can't store too much stuff. summer

Hi Everyone,

Took me a few minutes to find the last time I posted woozy To be honest, I just haven't felt like taking the time. Now that PT is done, attending to overdue annual doc visits as well as over junk stuff that comes my way. I tend to do that all in the morning. By time I'm home, I just want to play, then sometimes take a nap mid-afternoon.

Last week was dental time. Mine doesn't do anything unless it's absolutely necessary, and has a 'watch' list for me. We had agreed to get at least one thing done a year. Considering all the doc stuff I've dealt with this year, I was hoping to skip, but no such luck. A tooth that has been developing cracks over the last 5 years (I grind my teeth), can't wait any longer without the possibility of loosing it. I also want to look at a different oral appliance. The one I had now has been the most challenging to get used to. More wire in my mouth than I've had since my 20 years of braces earlier in my life. Because of my back and sinuses, the procedure is broken into 3 visits. So, Monday I'll be in her office for 2 hrs; choose a new appliance, and prepare cracked tooth for a crown. Next visit will be to take impressions for permanent tooth cap and the new appliance. This is a challenging procedure due my cleft as I have a high gag reflex. 3 weeks later I'll get the new cap and learn how to work with new appliance. All this needs to get done before November to avoid driving in any early winter stuff. I met her when she and I were both located in Chicago. When she moved hr away, I followed her. She recently moved her office again. Half the distance, but not as easy to get to as the other one. She earned my trust a long time ago. Been with her 31 yrs.

Also, 50th high school reunion put off until next spring. Restaurant won't/can't do event outside. Organizers put request for opinions from attendees. We decided it was smart to wait. We want to see each other without masks. And maybe more than 26 will come.

My pooch is fine. I was a little concerned casue he's starting to loose his balance and, I think, his hearing. Even though I make sure to make noise when I dropped the cookies in his bowl, twice I've had to go to his bed to inform him that his 'nighttime' snack was in his bowl. Manager at day care assured me that other than signs of aging, he's still enjoying his time there. He's just aging faster than he otherwise would have. Long time since I've been with an aging dog.

As always, everyone is in my prayer for all the good and not so good.

It's a challenge staying well and keeping up with everything, butterflybabe! Just had two crowns put on too - hoping to keep all my teeth until I die! Glad to hear the pooch is hanging in there.

Butterflybabe, I'm off for some dental work at the end of this month, too. Ain't it fun?

I had a root canal in a back molar about 30 years ago, and then had it re-done about ten years ago. The second go had failed spectacularly, infecting my entire jaw and sinus cavity, as the roots had punched through. I didn't know that until the dental surgeon did a 3-D scan of my jaw last year. Ugh. what a mess.

The tooth was removed a year ago, and now I'm having a bone graft and an implant inserted. That will allow the removal of the very back molar, which is beyond hope at this point.

I'm glad to hear your dog is still having a happy time My first cat lived with diabetes and kidney failure in her later years and still had a nice, cozy life.

I brought a pot of "Matcha Coconut Lattes" coffee this morning for everyone ... and also a Scottish Breakfast tea and bottled Fiji water which is wonderful

I'm off to take grandson to his football game so will pop back in later to catch up (as the Tomato would say in a cross country race)

Good one, soot! Think I'll can more spaghetti sauce today. Or maybe some tomato soup... hmmm... Nice bowl in the winter with a grilled cheese sandwich? Sounds pretty good to me. Yup. Soup it is then.

We're back in windy weather again.

I just realized that the reason I'm so averse to vacuuming my house is the fact that the built-in vacuum is so darned heavy and bulky and is so difficult to take up and down the stairs and put away. It came with the place. I've decided I hate it. I find myself sweeping the house all the time instead. Time to buy a nice, lightweight modern vacuum that I can carry around the house.

Our tomato plants just languished in the greenhouse this year -- I think it was too hot. We got very few tomatoes. Normally we'd be drowning in them at this time of year.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

I don't know if you have them there, but I dearly love my little Dyson V8 cordless vacuum. It only weighs about 5 pounds and comes with several attachments to become a handheld. It definitely works best on hard floors. I make short work of the steps going upstairs and don't have to drag a heavy vacuum.

My robot vacuum - named Rumu after the game featuring a robot vacuum cleaner! - takes care of the rest under the furniture and places I can't get to. He is particularly good at picking up all the cat hair under and behind the couch!

We have the GTech Air Ram which is an amazingly powerful but lightweight machine although the rechargeable batteries seem to be a bit variable on quality. smile

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll start looking for a replacement.

I've wondered about getting a Roomba. They had them at Costco a while back. It would hep with the cat hair.

My neighbour has a self-guided lawnmower, which he appropriately named "Moe." It's amazing. It tools around all day mowing and then puts itself to bed.
