Have you tried right clicking on your screen , you should see View.... click on that and is your auto arrange icons checked ? if so uncheck it see it that helps

family, you say nothing works, but you don't tell us what you have tried.
In that View when you right click the desktop, I have Align to Grid because I like them to be over on the left side. You can also use Sort By and pick how you want them sorted.

i finally got them arrange, i uncheck align to grid, let them arrange themselves, i finally shut down, and restart, back to normal, i been unpluggeding before shutting down, back to normal.

That's fine if there is a bad thunderstorm to unplug it. Just make sure you shut it down properly through the menu first... THEN unplug it.
