Got through about 75% of the game and now I can't move. Reading on Steam: unfortunately game is glitchy. if you don't follow the linear "right" path, your next actions not gonna available to you and you re gonna be stuck. this happened a few times to me and i finally gave up and uninstalled the game. if you still want to continue the game you ll have to reload from a old save and play everything again because there is no auto save.

I'm not going backwards at the point. I was wondering if anyone has a save at the start of Misson 6?

Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again.

Hi ghostlady, there is a saved-game site that I have referred our members to for years - it is perfectly safe and legitimate.

I am happy to see that they do have saved games for Mata Hari, which you can find here. smile

That's weird. I played the game from Steam on Windows 7 at least 5 years ago and didn't have any problems and I wasn't following any strict path that I can remember.

Here is from GameBoomer flotsam's review, which pretty much shores up what you are saying about the game, oldbroad:

Quote
Puzzles are generally of the “use the right item in the right way” variety, although the final puzzle might take a little more brainpower. Mata Hari is not a hard game, helped by the ability to reveal all hotspots, and wrong conversation choices are easily rectified by simply doing it again. There is some hit-and-miss in some of those choices, most usually when Mata is trying to seduce someone, but these are fairly limited in nature. There is one maze-like game, but a little thinking will reveal an easy way through. The creeping game is too much an exercise in randomly trying where to go next to be interesting or challenging. The game is a mixed bag puzzle ways, but the ups outweigh the downs, and it suits a range of adventure experiences.

Thank you for that site, Marian. I did find some Mata Hari saves so I should be able to finish this. At the early part of the game, you have to speak to some people out on the street to get "inspiration" to create a new dance. I think I gathered two of those and used the second one and didn't need to. But when I got way into the game, I needed inspiration again and it is was no where to be found. So I would have to go way back to the beginning to retrieve only one of those. Not worth the effort to do that. So that "save" has "saved" me. smile

I have some games I would like to replay also. But first I have a pile that I've never played from a stash from long ago. I try to do an old game I've never played and then a new one. Mata is a new one for me. I just recently found out about it. I am enjoying it.

Pretty much the same thing with me ghostlady, but I did start replaying games a few years back anyway, even though I have so many that I never played, both old and new.
