So, I'm in the middle of new "creator" and gaming PC builds and am looking for a good disk/file copy/cloning and backup app. For the first time in awhile, I'm about 6 years behind on new tech and knew that some of you boffins use macrium reflect. Was wondering if anyone has been using it regularly on Windows 11? If so, what's your thoughts on its reliability? Any suggestions for similar apps? As an FYI, a few of the drives I'll be cloning are in the 1-3TB range. Would also prefer to stay away from any Cloud based applications or storage.

I'm checking on other forums as well, but thought I'd ask my 'Boomie compatriots for input too.

I subscribe to the "Ask Leo" newsletter by Leo Notenboom. He's been doing them for many years and explains things in "normal" terms, not technical jargon. He has for a very long time recommended Macrium Reflect as the best all around software for backup, cloning etc. They no longer offer a free version. I have also used EaseUS Todo which Leo also recommends, but not on Windows 11. Of course, there are the old reliables such as Acronis.

And of course, there are always the "best of" offerings such as this one from LifeWire.

Just an fyi, the free version is going away..

As I said in my post, I thought it was already gone, Winfrey. At least that's what I "think" I read in one of the Ask Leo newsletters. But that might be my rememberer not working!

oh, ya, didn't notice that part. they are still supporting mine right now but will end I think end of year and no longer offering it. I am not a happy camper..

Winfrey, even though they are no longer giving support, if the version you have does the job it needs to do for your purposes, then you just keep that version until you eventually have to upgrade to a newer version of M$ Operating System. I have in the past used free utilities that were no longer Free and it worked A OK.

Oh and don't worry about alarmists telling you about potential Virus' or Malware, it is a downloaded software and as long as you have a good Antivirus and Malware software running you should be OK.
