I have to ask this. GOG is showing a 9 day Medieval Fantasy Sale. When I click on it my whole GOG site turns into Polish. It is okay again after I close Firefox and go back in. Is this happening to you also?

Just some little glitch, I guess. I get Polish the first time I click on it and then if I go back and try a second time, it's in English.

I tried it twice and got Polish both times on my regular screen after closing it. I ignored the "do you want to translate" message. I am also assuming it is just something somebody forgot to do when they put that sale up. I was just curious though.

I also get Polish no matter how many times I closed the browser and tried again. THIS is interesting... in the "translate" box you can choose what language you want to translate to and English is not listed!

Hm, I thought I saw English but honestly, I didn't keep it on the screen that long so I'm not sure.

I just went back and tried it again and got English on the first try.

I'm still getting Polish and there is an option to translate from Polish to English. Weird! And the Polish stays when I go back to the home page.

This is getting almost comical! I went back and NOW there is an option to translate into English - it wasn't there before! Guess, it's just something they're going to have to fix!

It might, might help if you Clear your Browser cache, close your browser then retry.

Tried that and it's all still in Polish! I tried in both Edge and Firefox... same result.

For what it's worth I get no Polish. Just English, or possibly American English . I can't tell the difference.

I also get English !! No Polish whatsoever

LOL! That's because they finally fixed it. I guess enough people told them about it that they did something. This is from last Monday and I think it was Wednesday when I checked again and it was OK.

Somebody over there is sure having problems posting sales lately. This week when I click on the "Weekly Sale" tab I am getting "404: oh noes, there's nothing in here".

When I click on the weekly sale tab, I get a normal page of information. Maybe I'm not clicking in the same place that you are.

Down towards the middle of the page where they show all the different sales going on. I'm still getting the 404.

It's probably because some local gateway having to do with your internet provider is experiencing an issue - and it should resolve at some point.

I hope so. I am liking GOG less and less lately. Everything else I've been trying to access has been working fine all day so...

Let me ask you this Marian. If you are already signed into your account and click on "support" is it asking you to sign in again?

oldbroad, have you tried a different browser? When I click on Support, I can review a bunch of canned responses, but the "sign in" option is in the upper right corner.

Same thing happening on Edge and I'm not signed into my account there.

Then I suspect Marian is correct and it will just resolve itself next time you reboot.

Still, it does not inspire confidence in me to be using GOG.

No. It takes me right to the GOG Support Center.

I go straight to the GOG Support Center too, but at the upper right it says, "sign in." I don't need to sign in to read any of the links though.

No problems lately with GOG and this is not really relevant to this board but -

I just ordered a few games and was charged SALES TAX. They finally caught up to me. Sometimes the sales tax is what made the difference for me on whether I purchased a game from Steam or GOG.

From what I understand, the sales tax collection has to do with State requirements. There has been a big conversation about it over the last several years here in Missouri. Our legislature finally passed something saying that on-line purchases needed to have sales taxes collected and sent to the State. It took awhile, but Amazon now charges Missouri sales tax for instance. I personally was in favor of it even though it means I have to pay more. I know a lot of small business owners who were very upset at the unfairness of them having to collect sales taxes and pay it to the State and on-line businesses not having to do it.

GOG charged 3% more than Steam. I don't even know what the correct state sales tax is anymore. I think Amazon's been charging it for a couple of years now just as Steam and Big Fish have.

I am charged tax on ANY purchase outside of the UK that the British Tax Collectors deem appropriate - and it can certainly make a hefty difference to the cost 🙄

I am still not charged tax on Big Fish purchases and am surprised that it hasn't happened yet.

My purchases from BF have very much dwindled since the tax thing started. The cost to me of a game from them now is quite exhorbitant - even in their sales

I am very sorry about that, Mad. Their new set-up hurt a lot of overseas customers, sadly.

Well I had bought plenty before the tax change so have lots still to play - not to mention I remember very little about games I’ve already played so they will be like new ones too
