Do Games, the studio that brought you the mysterious Magic City Detective: Rage Under Moon presents the anticipated sequel, Magic City Detective: Wrath of the Ocean!

Powerful supernatural beings live among us! One of them, Ribeira Lima, the ocean siren, has become the public's favorite in Rio, but her role in human affairs may be much more consequential than anyone could have imagined. Her ability to soothe the ocean with magical singing is integral to her role, but she has gone missing, leaving no one to sing the Song of the Ocean. Meanwhile, an overwhelming tsunami coming to Rio threatens to sweep away everything in its path. You're the only one who can find Ribeira and save the city!

Solve the kidnapping case before you get caught in a wave!
Read faces to detect which one of Ribeira's friends wants to help her and which one is a wolf in sheep's clothing!
Leave no unexamined clues at the crime scene and assemble a collection of commemorative items scattered all over Rio!

That is what it says oldbroad, DLC for the Collectors Edition. Read "About This Content" below if you haven't already. DLC for a collectors edition is new to me but maybe not new to collectors on Steam. Honestly I don't know

I have never seen DLC for a Collector's Edition anywhere before, Steam included. Interesting, though!

Something new Marian? It does look good/interesting like you say. Besides getting that bonus chapter you get more gameplay by adding that DLC prior. It has me wanting to give it a try. We will see. Gotta ask the wife and see if she is interested. She loves these collectors as I did

I read it before I posted Orion. I have just never heard of DLC for a casual game. It almost sounds like it is just the bonus chapter even though their base game says it is a Collector's Edition. The description in their base game doesn't seem to mention the bonus chapter. Still ??

You could be right oldbroad. I too have never seen an add-on to a collectors edition. I have sent an email to them asking about this. Let's see if I get an answer

Check out these 2 "collector" games. They mention the bonus chapter and have DLC listed for them

The Power of Chosen One Collector's Edition

City Legends: The Ghost of Misty Hill Collector's Edition

Interesting. Must be something new but for me, just some kind of money grabber. Honestly, I don't even like DLC for an adventure game. Include it all or make a new game!

I have picked up quite a few DLCs. It depends on the game and DLC offered. It can add backstory, character info, info on locale and more. I find it very informative, info that you don't get in the game. It is nice to know when playing through. It works for me. In some ways it's like getting the whole game and not bits even though you can play from start to finish

Well....lets see what Domini has to say about these DLC's. I did get a ticket

Have a nice eve OB wave

Let us know what they say, Orion. I tried contacting them several times and never received an answer. Their games don't seem to work on my Windows 10 computer (no video) so I stopped buying them.

And I have written to Domini more than once and always received a reply. It will be interesting to see if Orion hears back from them.

Domini got back to me in less then 24 hrs with this response:

Quote
"Collector's edition" no longer means that all the bonuses and DLCs are included, so we can't recommend using it as a reference when buying our games. Sorry for the confusion.

However, thank you for your feedback concerning the naming of our games. I will pass it to our developers.

Well that just offered more confusion so I sent a reply asking about this Collector's Edition. It states "Bonus Chapter!" and then has DLC offering more extras?

This statement here:

Quote
"Collector's edition" no longer means that all the bonuses and DLCs are included, so we can't recommend using it as a reference when buying our games.

Really.....since when?

They are advertising a Collector's Editions. Those who play these casuals are use to "Collector Editions" having a "bonus chapter", at least on Big Fish Games. That is why they are purchased. Maybe this is just a Steam thing. There is some confusion here and Domini needs to straighten that out but something tells me that is just not gonna happen. One "Collector Edition" mentions "bonus chapter" included and another no mention of it. Those "Collector Edition' games that don't mention a "bonus chapter" included does the DLC give that chapter? I have to admit the DLCs sound good but do they offer that "bonus chapter" one is wanting

I should get another reply by tomorrow morn. I did ask about these DLCs but did not get a response to them so I asked again

Like I said, sounds like a money grabber. If I remember correctly this particular game does not show the bonus chapter included on Steam BUT does show it on BF.

I have been noticing some Collector's Editions don't mention strategy guides anymore either. The only reason I ever buy CE's is for the bonus chapter and the guide. Suits my finances if they quit having CE's altogether!

I'm glad they responded to you. I don't know why they never responded to me. I wrote to the same place Marian used.

I just spoke with someone on another forum who knows something about all of this, and she says the following:

Quote
Most of the Domini Games are serial games with new chapters added from time to time. Most begin as mobile games and then for BFG I believe they consolidate the chapters to create the CE designation - same for Steam. However, new chapters are added and thus the DLC. You must have the original CE game to get the new content added to it.

I think I understand a little better now, but I don't buy HOPAs from Steam anyway so for me it's a nonissue.

Ob, I haven't seen a HOPA CE without a strategy guide thus far.

I am still confused with it Marian buts that's fine. Like you I don't buy these casuals from Steam either and I would advise anyone who does be very leery about what you are getting when purchasing "Collector Editions" from Steam

I did get a response from Domini and again I did not get the answer I was hoping for. I led him to another Collector's Edition that mentioned a "Bonus Chapter" included and DLC for it and he came back with this:

Quote
Thank you for the information! The bonus chapter is actually included in the main game without DLC. However, DLC adds some extra rooms and backgrounds both into the main game and into the bonus chapter.

It seems that the description about "Secret Room!" may not be fully correct. I forwarded this information to our developers for further review.

His response only pertained to that game when I was also asking about these collectors that don't mention a "bonus chapter". Do these DLCs give you the bonus chapter? What is really going on with Domini Collector Editions on Steam?.....I don't think he knows. He was just reading the description of the game and what the DLC offered. Oh well

I guess the bottom line here is if the "Collector's Edition" and the DLC do not mention a "bonus chapter" you may not get one

I do buy some of my casuals at Steam due to finances and have actually only had a problem so far with Domini (not just the video, but virus notifications from Norton and Malwarbytes). I had that same Malwarbytes notification on a Domini game from Big Fish but trusted BF more than Steam and ignored it. CE's include the bonus chapters. I would not buy DLC for a casual game though; I'm sure I'd never know if there is really some "extra rooms" or not laugh.

Marian, regarding the guides, I don't remember what games I noticed that in the description they didn't mention the guides. Maybe the guides were actually there. If I run across one that I can point out, I'll post.
