But I’m not kicking myself as I had no idea what he would have looked like 59 years ago and I don’t have any of his albums

I had a friend at university who had the album, and the cover always stuck in my mind along with that of the Doors album Strange Days (which the same friend also had): I had only just noticed this thread or I would have answered sooner. Back then, this would all have been somewhat exclusively British and blokish music I think, and perhaps even a bit avant garde, so probably not surprising that it left many of you puzzled.

I'm puzzled as to why it looked familiar to me
